Aston Villa vs Manchester United

Awful team, awful bench. Hopefully Rooney or young Januzaj step up

That bench is fecking terrible.

A centre back who can't run. Two left backs, one of which has played about 2 minutes. A man returning from a 3 year illness. A guy from the championship who's played about 60 minutes. And Young.

Bloody hell.

Agree Zaha is the one shining light the rest are uninspiring have we that many injuries? Or is our squad this weak?

Is Anderson injured too.. That bench looks really weak.. Was happy to see Fletch but it looks like he might be there just to make the numbers. Fabio and Buttner both on the bench.

We're having ridiculous luck with these injuries. I really hope they clear up soon since we have a game every three days now up until Jan,

When the same thing happens on a consistent basis year upon year it isn't luck. There's something wrong.

A nice surprise to see Fletcher again. I wonder what level he's at.

Decent team though. Plenty of speed and energy out there. As long as we play with urgency and a consistent attacking threat we'll create chances. Just need to start taking them now.

Hope it's a 4-3-3, a 4-4-2 with cleverley-giggs midfield really doesnt bode well for us.

4-3-3 away from home? Are you nuts?

Sorry, I'll rephrase that:

4-3-3 away from home? With out midfield? Are you fecking nuts?

Rough looking team on paper. But looking at the bench, not many more options to go with.

Do we know what their injuries are and for how long they're out?

I don't know mate. All I heard was that there were some players who weren't in training that Moyes didn't make public. I believe the Mail said Chich is injured.

ITs a good side if we can play properly. It should be good enough to beat Villa who are without Delph and Weimann

But if we play like we have recently we will be beaten again

Nono. Attack and abuse him is better.

Damn Moyes for injuring half our squad with his training methods, he's the cancer killing Manchester United. Get him the fukk out!!

Think I'm doing it right now.

Big chance for Welbeck if playing up front. Him and Rooney have linked well together in the past.

Great to see Fletch back, his experience could be a real asset and he's looked pretty good for the u21s in recent games.

With that team in mind I hope we set up something like this:

De Gea
Rafael - Jones - Evans - Evra
Cleverley - Giggs
Valencia ----- Welbeck ----- Januzaj
Rooney
Now that may sound a little bit crazy but I'll explain my reasons.
1. Rooney knows how to hit the back of the net. Welbeck, we just can't trust for that right now.
2. Benteke and Agbonlahor whether we like it or not pose a big threat to us. It's important that we don't let Villa dictate the midfield and keep supplying them, Welbeck while not a "CM" could do a good job in there today dropping back and supporting Giggs and Cleverley.
Failing that, I'd like to see Welbeck wide with Januzaj in the hole behind Rooney.

Giggs and Cleverly starting and a post-illness Fletcher as our back up. feck me we really need to spend some serious money in this department. To think we lost Pogba too for feck all is enough to give us a migraine. Our own fault really as we have all known for around 3-4 seasons we had to strengthen here and haven't!

I don't think it's that unreasonable to ask why we have so many injuries. It could be just bad luck. We had an injury crisis under Sir Alex a couple of seasons back. But there could also be an underlying reason. Didn't Spurs attribute theirs a few years ago to the firmness of their training pitch?

We have an injury crisis at least once every season.

FFS thought this was at 12:45. Anyway, going to be optimistic - 3-1 United, Welbeck to score.

Oh just say it and stop trying to be subtly (sneaky).

Bloody hell, the unavailable list was ridiculous, now Kagawa Hernandez and even Anderson are out?!

I think Evra starting is the one bit of joy, as it looked like he was definitely out. I expect he's just a trooper, playing through what others wouldn't do.

It's an arse of a thing to think, but if we were top of the league playing great, would everyone still be unavailable?

Villa priced at nearly 4/1 to win this.

Aston Villa XI: Guzan, Lowton, Clark, Baker, Luna, Westwood, El Ahmadi, Sylla, Albrighton, Agbonlahor, Benteke.
