It's mainly the draft threads and the transfer forum. The Man.U forums are okay to read but the draft threads are full of the biggest nerds on here and the transfer forum has the most maladjusted weirdos of any forum.
Big loss, high server useage @Niall

Why can I no longer ignore threads / forums?

I turned the add-on off before last nights match finished and didn’t turn it on again. Just to mess with you guys.

(And to try and reduce the server meltdown)

Why doesn't Niall open up for donations and upgrade his crap servers?

They’re not crap, it’s all the people posting crap after we lose that’s the problem!

New servers are actually coming in the next few weeks.

When @Billy Blaggs quoted me yesterday, instead of me he quoted member 10183 or whatever... and I didn't get a notification either.

Is it okay to post a video if a rights issue has been flagged with it?

See Donald Trump's latest tweet as an example.

As long as the video isn't hosted here, it should be okay. If the rights holder has a problem, then they'd be lodging it to the platform hosting the video, I believe, rather than the many sites the link would have been posted on.

Ahh...Ok. Cheers Damien.

In the Trump Presidency thread, people were asking about the video contained in the latest Trump tweet which had 'Everybody Hurts' playing over footage of Democrat politicians reacting to his speech. REM must've flagged it for a rights violation as it has since been removed. It's still on YouTube however and I posted the address - which happens to embed the video automatically. (I was under the impression that you had to use the media symbol to do that)

Why is ‘l o l’ and other similar words banned? I know it’s because it’s ‘text speak’ but this is just a football forum :/ it’s not meant to be formal

Why isn't it meant to be formal? Text speak should be limited to chats and WhatsApp groups. No need for that on discussion forums. Personally I find it a bit infuriating even in chats because it seems very lazy and half-hearted.

Is there a nightmode for the forum hidden anywhere in the options or preferences?

Nope. RedCafe Dark on Stylish is the closest thing. Niall said this last Feb:

I may do this after upgrading to XenForo 2 but that's a few months away.

But don't know whether it is still in his thoughts or not.

Haven't really ventured this far into cellar of the Caf before, so I'll presume this is the right place to report an issue. Yesterday & today I get asked to log in and get an error where it can't open the page because it's been "redirected too many times" when either doing the score prediction for Liverpool or rating the players after the win against Chelsea. Now, I've declined to rate the players after the Chelsea match, but hope to do the score prediction & the line up vs. pool.

Oh, and I need to log in continuously when I change between forums. Weird, maybe it'll take care of itself.

Never mind. It was probably some update from Windows causing the issue. Seems to work now.

If a poster is on ignore is it possible to keep a thread they created in view rather than having to click 'show ignored content' at the bottom of the page?

Suddenly getting pop ups blocked messages on my phone when on the caf, only seems to have come about the past week or so.

Previously I was getting a small advert at the bottom of the page that I'd have to close. Would this be what my phone is now blocking?

I’m not sure what that is. Do you have a screenshot you can send?

Why does Ignore Thread option randomly turns off? Before it came back soon after, but this time there's no option for it in days.

The feature is server intensive so Niall turns it off during matches and often forgets to put it back on, hence why it hasn't been on in a while.

Also, if I remember right, after the last match the caf went down for a bit so he might be wanting to wait until the server upgrade before enabling it again.

Who posted this?

It says "guest" under the name.
Think the account's been deleted, there's a few older users like that, it came up in a thread not so long back.

It's annoying though. Why are "l o l" or "f w i w" not allowed anymore but "imo" and "iirc" still are? They're all acronyms but not necessarily text speak.

I wanted to type "PL s" as plural for Premier Leagues yesterday and I got an error saying "p l s" is text speak.
