Ashes II - 2013/14 - In Australia

For anyone that didn't know Piers cracked a rib, his wrist and has bruising all over.

Fair play to Morgan he's a good sport, I hate the man but it takes a bit of bottle to let Brett Lee bowl an over of fast balls at you!

He's not a good sport, he's quite clearly raging through most of that. He has to keep his temper to save face in front of the cameras though. You can audibly hear him lose composure and say "fecker" at one point.

I think after being hit by an 80+mph cricket ball I can forgive him a swear word. I think most people would do the same. Most people then wouldn't take the other 5 balls as well.

I still think he's a cnut mind.

The funniest thing is Morgan tried to move away from most of them deliveries and Lee just followed him.

Of course he did, everything he does is for his ego and publicity. But that doesn't change that fact it takes some balls to keep standing there after taking the first ball plum to the ribs.
Anyway onto the main event, really need to get this last wicket soon.

What a complete shambles yet again removing the tail, absolute joke. Just bowl at the stumps for Christ's sake, its Lyon, he's not that good, he'll miss one. All that happens is we repeatedly pitch it up and get slogged around a bit, eventually one will work, and the tactic will be kept. Should have had a lead of 90, now it'll be below 50, quite possibly a lot less than that. We know England will struggle to get much above 250, so this could well cost England the game.

This happens against every damn country too. Extremely thick bowling every single time, making no hoper tail enders look like good all rounders. Look how many wickets Johnson's got through bowling actually at the wickets. Anderson in his infinite wisdom spends the first over of a new ball aiming everywhere but the wicket to Lyon who's backing 2 foot away from the wicket.

Sack Cook, sell Pietersen.

Just showed all the balls bowled this morning - i'd be surprised if a single one was actually going to hit the stumps. The mind boggles it really does, Lyon has a first class average of 12 (somewhat inflated by his innings against England probably) yet we bowl at him like he's a good batsmen. Whoever sets England's bowling plans for the tail wants sacking, how many games do we have to see the tail salvage an innings for the opposition because England only ever pitch the ball up against the tail? So predictable.

Cooks hitting some lovely shots. Carberry could really do with putting some runs on the board, if only just to get settled, although at least he's playing sensibly.

I would say unbelievable.

But its not, fecking bunch of stupid cnuts.

Bells Indian summer is well and unbelievably truly over.

Pietersen again showing why he's England best batsman. The stick he takes from English fans and some of the pundits is quite unbelievable.

Why do all English batsmen play like such plodders?

I wondered the same thing.

He bowls the same thing again and again.

This is piss poor stuff from England.

Australia are playing this test match like the team that lost 3-0 in England and England are still bottling it.

Disagree with you guys. Think Australia will win this easily.

This 360 degree view thing is fecking annoying.

Panesar has a lot of courage. Swann couldn't wait to go back to the pavillion when the umpire gave him out. Panesar even tries to review LBWs.

They're used to playing against a Duke ball, in damp conditions.

Fair point but there needs to be some fundamental thought on how to switch gears in different conditions. The game is evolving but England aren't. Not saying go smash bang, but they're not even playing positively.

And Root's fall has been crazy. He was very good at #6 here in India. They promoted him too fast, it looks like and he's just looking out of place for test cricket right now.

Bumble

"There'll be a tram moving on Flanders street next and they'll be like 'noo, I can't bat'"

Nathan Lyon's a decent bowler but 5 wickets for him on day 3 of a flat wicket is just embarrassing

Awful display, and really awful innings by both teams. Only hope is that they serve up another crock of shite in their final innings.

That 40 runs we gave them start of play yesterday could come back to bite us.

Lack of positivity is due to a loss of confidence. Same thing happened to United, it's funny how a decent run of results changes the mindset.
