Arturo Vidal

I think with transfers, the longer the go on naturally the more concerning it is. The irony is in reality we don't even know if we are interested. I'm sure the 'no smoke without fire' thinking might be true but personally I'm worried. It's got Cesc written all over it. I'm not sure why historically (even with CL football), we struggle to make these type of transfers happen when Barca, Real, BM, Chelsea or Arsenal (if they got the cheque book out more often) it seems to happen very quickly?
I think we do. Vidal mentioned our interest, or at the very least directly answered a question about interest from Manchester United without denying it. Then the Chile manager also mentioned it.
Short of LvG or Woodward confirming Vidal is a target, that's as certain as we can be at this stage.

Woody's face when he sends in the bid:

His face when he hears instantly it's rejected:

 We better sign the fecker. It's Arturo time sumzehmebitches

I asked yesterday. Where is the bloody agent? He was last seen in Cardiff. Bugger ran off with our warchest didn't he?

Searched for the latest Vidal news and all I see is reports for the Daily Star, Metro, caughtoffside and the Irish Independent. It's the Thiago saga all over again.

We could be waiting till he gets fully fit before making any decisions. If we bid fro him now, will he even pass his medical ??

Only God knows.

The truth is that no one really knows except for the two clubs. If United really want this deal to happen they'll do everything in their power to get him. This signing would be a real statement of intent, just like Arsenal buying Sanchez and Chelsea buying Costa.

It'd be a bigger signing than both of them.

The love-in is incredible

I'm willing to bet that 80% of the muppets in this thread haven't even seen Vidal play outside the World Cup

Are you for real? Do you think people just joined up here when the World Cup was on? We all watch the Champions League. A fair few of us watch football throughout Europe including Serie A. There is no love-in. Anyone who watches football on a regular basis and has seen Vidal playing knows he is top quality. You are talking such tripe in this thread.

Yep. Unfortunately there is nothing concrete whatsoever. All the papers are doing is rehashing one another's stories.

If Jonas believes this journo then that's good enough for me!

All the shit papers at that. I don't know, you'd think at least a few reliable ones would be catching on at this stage? it's all very familiar.

Well if those quotes are bullshit then Pogba will probably deny it on his twitter, he's done it during WC, bet he'll do it again if so.

I don't think the quote is particularly unbelievable. When he says "We're hearing that Arturo Vidal is going but we don't know" he must mean that they're hearing it in the papers. This isn't really different from Vidal not denying that he could be off when he has been given the chance in the past. This just confirms that the situation hasn't changed.

I'd say we're a lot more stringent now after the Hargreaves debacle. Transfer fee and wages this is a £100 million deal for the club, you don't take that lightly.

I agree. I hope and presume it would be very stringent. I would still presume that players with short term relatively minor injuries would still pass though!

Yea of course, I haven't found anything ground-breaking in those quotes, just referring to the possibility of it being fake.

I just meant that if you're going to make up a quote, surely you'd make it more interesting than that! It sounds like the sort of thing Pogba probably would say if asked.

Pogbas words are also encouraging. If Vidal was going to stay surely he would have told his team mates that by now? Why would Pogba say that they're hearing he's leaving but hoping he'd stay?

If he has decided to leave & has the cheque in his hand wurehy would he wait till 17th to submit it to Juve? Is he too lazy to re-schedule Vidal's return ticket? I call bullshit.

Exactly, if the agent has our offer in hand, wouldn't he be picking up the phone to the Juve chairman and verbally
inform him of our offer and maybe whatsapp him Woody's signature on the document? There's no need to even wait till tomorrow to
do the bloody submission.

Another weekend and another piece of scrap thrown towards the Vidal muppets.
