Arturo Vidal

Honigstein is at this moment staring at his phone wondering why his twitter just came alight with a hoard of rabid muppets.

I really think at this stage LVG doesn't want Vidal.

Jorge Sampaoli has had a little bit of a chat with El Mercurio about many things surrounding the Chile NT, and one of the topics is Vidal.

C'mon peeps lvg is back we may hear an announcement soon either way, whatever happens we need to reach berbatov's target, we should follow lvg's example and win whatever comes into our cross hairs

The thread should be locked 1 post before it hits the Berbatov record, just to avoid the embarrassment.

We wont be signing this guy. Weeks and weeks pass and still not even a hint of it happening.

So according to his national team manager the main stumbling block is his knee. If this is the case we are absolutely right to be patient.

Rightly so, with our history of signing midfielders we should steer clear if there's seemingly an injury problem. Juventus piping up everyday with a 'we'll consider a big bid' quote is also fishy.

Okay wow. Holy shit.

Makes sense but this is the first time anything official has happened. Makes absolute sense to wait for his knees. We don't want another Hargreaves.

Yup. Fitness is a key part of his game so we have every right to be patient and assess his knee very carefully.

The more I think about it, the less likely Van Gaal will be interested in this dude. What Hererra really needs to excel is a metronomic passer, with really good defensive anticipation. Someone who can pull the strings from deep while allowing Herrera to get forward and create. Vidal really isn't that player. So why sign him if we've already commited to making Hererra a big part of our future plans?

Basically, a younger version of Carrick would be perfect. So that's Strootman, right?

Yep. Unfortunately, patient in this scenario means waiting till next summer or atleast Jan in all probability which means we'd need to risk going into the season without any CM reinforcements.

Erm, sort of, I think.

I think Strootman would've been nailed on this summer if it wasn't for his knee. LvG rates him very highly so maybe he is holding off for him.

This is exactly why I'm convinced that Juve want to sell. They know there is doubts about his knee, and would rather sell him now before his value potentially plummets.
