Can't find a thread about this guy which is surprising.

i first saw him at the world cup with chile and was very impressed.

Backed it up with a great season at leverkusen with 11 goals and 10 assits.

At the world cup i taught he was a solid defensive midfielder in the mascherano mode but he has shown that he has far more to his game.

Quick, strong in the tackle, good passer and goalscorer. Sounds a lot like the sort of player we are looking for........

Bayern bound, isn't he?

Far from it. Leverkusen have said that they will not let him join a division rival. When he does leave he will move abroad.

"Discussion with Bayern Munich does not interest us.
When Arturo Vidal moves, which is very unlikely, then he will not stay in Germany.
He has until 30 June 2012 to extend his contract with us and we intend to discuss a contract with him," Holzhauser told Sport1.de.

He was a beast at the u-20 world cup in Canada, was ripping players in shreads, was surprised that he was actually a defensive midfielder.

His agent is Fernando Felicevich who also happens to be alexis sanchez agent.
Also he is out of contract next summer..

Remember reading loads of rumors about him and Munich last week.

Yes. Too bad we don't buy players from Germany unless they are Canadian with a British passport. Vidal would probably be perfect for us. Considering his contract situation he would definitely be "value in the market".

First time I saw him he struck me as a very tidy, combative player (solid passer and composed on the ball), with great abilities when he is not in possession. A bit like Javier Mascherano, but with more potential on the ball. But he has turned out to be so much more the last couple of years. In Germany they now describe him as a midfield maestro, and it is certainly justified. A Bundesliga-site gave him this review:

"His no-nonsense attitude, effective communication with his teammates and never-ending work ethic made him an ideal team player. Vidal played the holding midfield role to perfection but to define him strictly along those lines is to marginalize a truly universal player."

He is definitely a inspirational figure, and a type of player we miss. The fact that we was not in for him, or managed to pick up a player like Özil on an earlier stage could make you question our scouting staff/advisers in Europe/Germany.

Surely he is on the clubs radar. Weather or not we are interested is another matter but a player that has impressed on the internatiional stage and has had a breakthrough season with Leverkusen will have been scouted to some degree.

If United scouted adler then they would have spotted vidal aswell. Who knows maybe he will be the surprise signing the manager likes to make. The papers have not picked up on it and that's exactly what the club wants

Spurs will probably buy him, and we will end up getting him for twice what they paid in a couple of years.

Extremely harsh. To begin with, Özil had his sight set on Madrid from the start, same with Sahin. We are doing so much stuff behind the scene and rarely approach players openly. Sometimes, clubs don't want to sell no matter what - or the player don't want to leave his club. Reading and hearing what fans are expressing, it often strikes me that people are neglecting these situations and get frustrated because we weren't "officially" in for the player.

yeah our club like to be under the radar. You can never predict what we are doing.

Never mind the fact we made an offer for Ozil just before he went to Bremen, as he confirmed.

People always thinking they know better than our club...

I agree that it is harsh. But at the same time, we have known for quite a while that Scholes and Giggs carriers are coming to an end. We are lucky that Giggs can keep it going for one more year. Our CM would lack a lot of creativity and "penetration" if both retired. It is also a bit scaring to see how much we rely on a 38 year old.

I dont think I know better than our club either. But I expect the club to know a hell of a lot better than me and average joe in here, too. For most of the time our club do a fantastic job, but considering the resources spent I think one could expect our central midfield to be better. In my opinion its not bold to claim that Fergusons staff have let him down a bit in this department.

Leverkusen won't sell Vidal | Football News | Sky Sports

Bayern have offered £8,8 mill. For one of the three best players in Bundesligaen this season. It is claimed that Napoli are also interested and that Leverkusen are demanding €12 mill (about £10 mill). Value? That is a bargain!

He is very interested in a move to Bayern, but I bet our interest could give a sudden change of heart. Leverkusen-fans would love it.

Cheap and would fit in nicely.

We won't go for him.

This might as well go in the transfer section. So this is lad is a box to box CM right?

I did some youtube wanking over him the other day, scores al ot of headers.

He of course looked good in his compilation too.

He has developed into one hell of a player since the U20 World Championships in 2007. Box-to-box player, creative, scores goal, a leader-type... sign him up I'd say.

“We are keen to hold on to Arturo, but we could cash in on him if a big money offer from abroad comes in. AC Milan’s €10m offer is not high enough for us, though,” Voller told Bild.
Vidal has one year left on his contract with Bayer and has rejected the offer of a new deal at Leverkusen which could hasten his departure from the BayArena.

Milan Bid For Arturo Vidal | Forza Italian Football

My guess is Milan will probably pay up.

He'd fit in very well into Milan team, they're making some really tasty signings.

Scored some very nice crucial goals recently.

First two goals v Roma recently:

And the killer goal against Napoli:

He's had another great year, made more tackles than anyone else in the Serie A and has added that bit of bite in midfield to form one of the best midfield trios around with Marchisio and Pirlo. The trio have averaged 65 passes a game - only bettered by Arteta, Ramsey and Song and Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets - and are a huge reason why Juventus have been the third best possession side in Europe behind Bayern and Barca.

I was surprised and annoyed we never went in for him, especially at that price.
