Are PSG a failed project?

They lack killer instinct, missed a lot of goals and Hakimi was really selfish in a couple of occasions.
They desperately need a good striker.

The most damning thing is this has been the case forever for PSG in the champions league. I still remember several seasons ago watching Neymar and Mnappe miss chance after chance as they go out of the tournament. The names have changed but its still the same thing. They can play some nice football and do quite well but they didnt and still dont have someone you can count on to score goals if they only get 1 or 2 chances.

I really rate Vitinha, Ruiz and WZE and heard only good things about Neves but their midfield was really disappointing tonight.
They severely lack physicality in defense.

Do PSG fans think selling Ugarte was a good decision?

Yes I think most fans were happy to see Ugarte's back. Vitinha is very good as the holding midfielder

26th in the champions league table

If ever there was a team that doesnt learn year after year in the competition its them

Since 18/19 they've signed 12 or so CMs. 12 in 6 years

In the same time period they signed 6 options as a striker and currently dont have 1 they like to play.

Salzburg, City and Stuttgart in their last 3 games. Should still qualify for the first knockout but there is a chance that they don't.

City is due a rebound and Stuttgart is not a bad team at all. I can see PSG "only" getting 4 points from these three fixtures.

It's Red Bull Salzburg rather than Leipzig.

They will beat Salzburg draw with Stuttgart and who knows now with City!

The City game is in two months time so you'd imagine that they'd have got their act together by then!

Didn't realise they only have 4 points so far! They need at least 6 from their last three games otherwise they'll be knocked out!

I've found it very amusing that the Champions League has continued to elude them, no matter who is managing them and which players they buy.

Long may it continue.

Yeah, Vitinha is someone i would love us to sign. Also their left back they signed from Sporting - I think he's fairly talented, albeit a bit young still. WZE, Neves and Ruiz all also really good players but Vitinha is the skillset we could do most with at United.

Their attack is just shite though.

Woops, yeah, I read RB wrong and it is Salzburg.

I don't know how you can confuse the two. They are completely different clubs products who always negotiate incredibly hard for transfer fees when they sell their 4,533 players to each other.

They are basically a very average team now. They're football has been very surprising. In games against Arsenal and Bayern, they played a more counter attacking style which is opposite to what Enrique likes.

His teams are normally possession based but this is what happens when you dominate the ball in your league and come up against better opposition in the CL.

They have some really good players (especially Mendes and Vitinha), but it is astonishing, how much money they spent to end up with this "attack". Muani for €95m is still so funny to me.

I think the owners have failed to install a winning football culture. City's owners got this right but PSG haven't. They've made something closer to United where players earn large salaries and care more about fashion and social media, Paris is probably one of the top destinations if you love that shit but it's not for serious football.

I think you should think of them more like United now, in that they had a period of signing massive names/paying silly wages and it's really only been a season and a few months since the change in policy. Their recruitment, outside of attackers, in my mind has been really good and I can't think of a squad of 18-23 year olds in world football which is better? Zaire-Emery, Beraldo, Barcola, Neves, Doue, Mendes, Pacho etc. It was only a year and a bit ago they had Messi, Paredes, Wijnaldum, Neymar, Veratti, Icardi, Sergio Ramos all leave together.

As someone pointed out though, their forwards I see as distinctly average - Ramos and Muani combined cost like £130m, they are quite young but I feel that is where they let themselves down big time (and if you look at a lot of their games, they really struggle to convert chances just like United). I'd also mention their easiest games are to come, they lost away to Arsenal and Bayern (probably better teams in general than them now), they drew with PSV (their main bad result) and lost to Atleti though it was about as one sided a game as you'll see. They should still go through but they will go out once they meet one of the better teams most likely as they struggle to score.

Yeah the money they offer, they will have good players but like you say their attack is not good at all. Muani is not the only one though Ramos as well, who is struggling too.

They just seem to be in a phase where they win their league but aren't competitive in the CL anymore.
