He was pretty cocksure about it. I've never seen a professional footballer of his calibre announce so boldly what he did.
Tell me about it! God forbid we buy a proven top class player that plays in a position where we have no naturally suited options other than Valencia!
What is his best position? I've always found him to pop up everywhere in a game.
Right wing or right midfield. I know Mata did well there last year but that's not his position & unless we play a left footed player there we don't have many obvious options.
On the right, I believe. Can play on the left and through the middle too. I don't mind him, but another fairly average paced player who prefers the ball at his feet in close proximity dribbling past players with mediocre statistical output doesn't sound overly enticing. He may have a great beard and engine to boot, but he still seems an unnecessary purchase.
I would be surprised if they announce today at which club the have signed. Sure, he said there are offers and discussion are taking place, but i dont think it will be announced this week.
Seem to remember he has quite a temper too. Silly sending off's. id rather we just deploy Mata on the right or through the middle. Save the cash for someone else.

If you're insinuating that he's just like Mata then you're pretty wrong. He's tenacious & direct. Not lightening quick but he's quick enough. There's other ways to beat a man than just twatting it down the touchline & chasing it like a 10 year old. Can't really judge him based on stats as he's played for a team that sets out to win their games 1-0 for the past few years.
Our defence needs sorting & we need another midfielder but our attacking play was pretty poor last year as well. Without a proper right midfielder we'd be forced to play Mata there or one of the left wingers on their wrong side.

The transfer for 35m was practically confirmed by Bartomeu in a radio interview an hour ago. The interim board will meet with all candidates tomorrow to get the ok.
