It mightn't be a conscious decision, they are not going out thinking I'm playing bad today. Maybe he just can't get the best out of them now the initial new manager novelty has wore off.
The terrible culture that seems to have developed at the club is the biggest issue. 3 managers in a row that were a terrible fit combined with Woodward and the Glazers is the most likely root cause (and we don't really know this as we are only looking at symptoms from the ouside).
If we can get a decent modern management structure in place, get rid of some deadwood, recruit well (to an actual plan) and promote well from within, then then Ole has a chance. Again, how good he is is an unknown as we are only peering in from the outside.
I'm still really curious as to why the team performed so well but now seem to have fallen well off the pace. Is something else going on that caused this change?

But...gradually, Klopp instilled fitness in the squad. Gradually, he bought players that he wanted. Gradually, he whitened his teeth. Gradually, he got rid of deadwood. Gradually, Liverpool improved.
Ole needs time. He needs to instill fitness. He needs to bring in his own players. He needs to adapt to the new Premier League. He needs to influence transfer strategy and work with the coaching staff. Improvements don't happen overnight, despite his impressive 14 first games (the players were bound to burn out after that, as we're seeing). Improvements take time.

I'd be more optimistic if I know the club had a plan in place in order to bring United back to the top but giving Ole the job after 15 games was teenage girl's emotional reaction at its finest. I'm not saying Ole shouldn't have been United manager but the trial should've always been the end of the season not 2.5 months.

Unlike Klopp, Ole doesn't have a winning record as a manager, and he's never managed a big club. Its ok to have/express concerns without being disrespectful to him
comparing Ole to Klopp is madness. Klopp was a bonafide top manager when he took over at Liverpool, he had german titles and cups under his belt, and a CL final too
Correct, but despite his successes in Germany, he started slowly and had some embarrassing defeats and hilarious (from our perspective) moments for 2.5 years to get to this season. But he had the backing in market and by the board with a supporting staff to make it work (with a patient fanbase, presumably).
Klopp wasn't there for that 6-1 game. That was Rodgers.

The players and manager aren't up to scratch. That's the reality.

I cant say anything about ole, hes not been here long enough or brought in players to play his system. I can say hes failed in the past, quite badly, but who hasnt? If hes grown as a manger he deserves time to show it. If not, well we tried. I cant support the knee jerk reaction to the guy. He deserves a chance, and our support during that chance. But thats just me. I cant throw ole under the bus, when I know the players are a big issue currently. Id only be comfortable judging him after we get rid of a few problem players.
That's humiliating. Even if our 1 shot on goal had gone in, we'd still lose.
Those are the kind of stats I'd expect if a top club plays a club in the relegation zone.

Had Jose or LVG got results like this, most would want them sacked....including me.
I don't think it's Ole who does the contract extensions. That decision is taken by Woodward (who takes input from the manager, but makes his own decision) and the negotiations are carried out by Matt Judge.
I refuse to believe that Ole (or any manager), would be happy to have Young and Jones on our books, while shunning new player purchases in the Summer. Woodward on the other hand loves contract renewals as it saves money.

After his start he has to be given time. The results and performances have been terrible I dont think anyone can get away from that. However the reactions of some of our fans is borderline ridiculous.
I'm sure early next season if we are still playing awful and results are not improving a decision will be made by October.

We can only hope he gets better support behind the scenes from the club. Ed Woodwood has already failed to deliver a contract renewal for Ander (who was Ole's go to guy) - and it appears we will need to find a replacement for him as well.

We had the best manager available in the world but we didn't gave him enough power to build his own team so what's the point of doing it now for this guy ?

The players that really performed well(herrera, lingard, rashford, pogba etc.) switched off for one reason or another. If this reason is the manager I would be concerned. But Ole did seem to create some unity that hadnt been there since SAF left after his appointment, and if he can strengthen the squad (the weaknesses really shows when key players are injured/out of form) I think we should give him a chance next season. I really dont think anyone else in world football could have taken us on the run we had this year before the bad spell. If it was a one off thing, time will show.
Also, we need to recruit players with a stronger mentality, most of our players seem far too inconsistent and fragile. We need more winner/fighting spirit types and I think Ole will be looking for that more than anything else.
Too many people here only remember the trophies. They don't remember the struggles it took to get there.

We have to start somewhere. Something has to change. Personally I'd take a few seasons of good football with average results as long as a clear path and identity of the managers style is being formed.
We have had a lack of direction since SAF retired. Just a scatter gun approach to transfers and managers alike.
Hopefully giving ole time and appointing a DOF will set us on a clear path to modernising and finding a new identity of how we want to play moving forward so the next manager after ole fits the new style we want as a club.
It is all good though painting a whole squad of players as 'cnuts' just to defend a man that couldn't do his job properly anymore. Solskjaer being up to the task remains to be seen, though I'm not exactly convinced by what I've seen so far.
Im not saying Fergie is running the club, but its clear to me Ole is attempting to emulate him, and must be heavily relying on the old man for advice. Its pretty evident. Nothing wrong with being a student of Fergie and trying to lead like he did, but eventually Ole is going to have step into his own shoes here.
