Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Have you seen Luther?
Have you seen "Eleventh Hour" (2006)? It's the one with Patrick Stewart amd Asley Jensen. Very good miniseries, and only 4 episodes.

Ah yes I've seen Luther really enjoyed it in the beginning but it got a little silly at the end, how they didnt sack him for constantly disappearing to see that woman just as they had a case breakthrough I'll never know

Will look up 11th hour thanks

I adore the books, watched season 1 and thought it was OK. What's season 2 like?

In a word, addictive. I haven't tired of it yet and I'm into the 3rd season now! I didn't read any reviews before I started watching so had no expectations, but I like the way the writers have expanded on the original material and tinkered with some of the characters and timelines that one might expect having read the books or watched the films.

Ozark season 3 is coming soon I think

perfect timing, coming out on Friday. Can't wait to binge watch it.

All the guys that didn't watch the first two seasons will now even have time to watch 3 seasons at once in quarantine.

Yeah, absolutely! Couldn't have come at a better time. Not that I'm in quarantine, but I'm on annual leave :)

Just rewatching season 1 and 2 and boy can you fly through these episodes. The whole thing is so damn tight, superb script. I'd forgotten how funny it is in places.

I watched Tiger King on Netflix over the past 2 days.

Even in this day and age there are parts of America that are just :wenger:

would recommend it, some parts are just batshit

What is it about?
The English game seems like a decent show. A good substitute for football for this weekend
I think it's well done and interesting, but I get the feeling that it was made by someone who doesn't actually love football, and most of the actual football related parts are devoid of much emotion. Still worth a watch, though.

It's like the lion king but with tigers.

What is it about?

There's a general thread about the private Big Cat owners in America and the culture and business around it

There's a raft of other elements including (but not restricted to) murder conspiracies, cults, polygamy, drug use, gun nuts, con men and Country and Western music

And stood at the heart of it is a mullet-sporting redneck of the finest vintage. A total banana of a man

It suffers from the usual issues with these multi episode docs of repartition and a fair amount of fluff but it's high points are barely believable.

Sounds amazing

Watched the first 3 episodes last night, E1 was a bit slow but it really picks up thereafter, I laughed on numerous occasions at the absurdity of the events unfolding before me, true events apparently. Its very addictive and worth a watch, if you ever thought that you might be a tad mad watch this and it will put your mind at ease.

Yeah I've watched 5 now, it's absolutely bonkers. Hilarious, absurd and at times very serious, too. It definitely gets darker as it goes along, and even fecking more bananas.

I remember Louis Theroux did a documentary on Joe Exotic before which I thought made him look crazy, but it turns out that was just the tip of the iceberg

@United Hobbit All series of Spooks are on iPlayer, would recommend if you liked Line of Duty. Another successful BBC series

Watched the 1st 2 episodes really enjoying it so far like Bodyguard meets line of duty though not quite as good as line of duty least there are loads of series too!

Does it stay good or do the later series drop off/ get silly like Luther did which disappointed me?

I enjoyed them all, it’s been a while since I watched it and it probably does get a bit far-fetched though as it goes on.

Finished Tiger King. Everyone should watch it. One of the most batshit things I've ever seen and one of the best documentaries I've ever seen.

Just got through the first 3 episodes of Tiger King. It's just blowing my mind. Had it been a fictional TV series, I'd have have just scoffed at the absurdity of it all. Goes on to show that Truth is definitely stranger than fiction.

Going to finish the series today and start with Ozark tomorrow. Jason Bateman is just so brilliant in this show. One of my favourite actors out there. And quite underrated in my opinion.

Five episodes in to The Stranger based on the Harlan Coben novel of the same name, its new on Netflix. Gotta say is very bingeworthy, very mysterious with lots of interlinking storylines within the plot. Its set in Stockport and has an excellent cast. Haven't reached the finale yet but so far I'd give it 8/10

Just watched / binged this last few days. When I started it, I was wondering how the sideplots would play, but they are all interlinked as mentioned.
Really enjoyed the mystery and how it all played out.

Fascinating watching especially as im not a huge fan of UK based shows.

Thanks for the tip. Just read a description. Will get on it, seems pretty crazy and bizarre.

I started The Rookie. I'm about 3 episodes in. It's very cheesey in an American cop show kind of way, but it's quite good so far. Every time I see Nathan Fillion or Melissa O'Neill on screen though I expect it to get cancelled like it's a quality sci fi show.

yep, its a collection of murder, mullets, mayhem, wild cats, meth, exploitation, jealousy and egocentrics. A must watch, best docu I've seen in a long long time.

HBO is making much of its content free to stream for awhile, starting tomorrow. If for some reason you haven’t seen The Wire it’s a good opportunity.

Season 1 and 2 were good. Not so keen on season 3 but I haven't finished it yet.

Something to binge
Multiple seasons
Banshee
Monk
Justified
Psych
Nip/Tuck

1 season only -prematurely cancelled but still good
Lights Out
Persons Unknown
The Event
FlashForward
Invasion
John Doe

Kalifat on Netflix. About ISIS recruiting young girls in Sweden to go to Raqqa.
Recommend it strongly. At first I felt the plot was washed up but they really managed to make it interesting and fresh.

Recently started watching 12 Monkeys and it's been great so far, up to s2 already and it seems to be getting better with each episode.

I would highly recommend Twin Peaks (yes, even the 2nd season had some great bits) but Lynch isn't exactly for everyone.

Kinda feel now I shouldnt have waited so long to watch it but finally got around to seeing Bodyguard. Wow. Very very good. Kinda didn't want it to end but when it did it also did that very well.

Most impressed with Richard Madden's acting chops. He was good in GoT - sure- but didn't think he stood out. Absolutely knocked it out of the park in this one though. Lots of interesting characters really. Also.. The actress who plays Ada on Peaky Blinders ..

I’m living vicariously outdoors visiting nature via TV, but burning through episodes of River Monsters and Survivorman at an unsustainable rate. Plus the new David Attenborough series has been delayed because they’re doing a cinema release. I need help, even if it’s a YouTube series.

Please don’t say Naked and Afraid or Bear Grylls...can’t stand the guy for some reason. Ta.

Ray Mears has some stuff on Amazon Prime if you have that. Some of it is survival and some of it documentaries based on how people lived in the past and adapted to the land. I'm enjoying his one about how people adapted to the land when settlers arrived in America.

Survivorman Les Stroud has some new stuff up on YouTube too. He has one where he takes comedian Bill Engval out suriving in the desert that keeps getting recommended to me by the algorithm.

Some of Bear Grylls stuff is decent, it's more entertainment than what Les Stroud gets up to though. Dual Survival is similar except there's always two of them and it seems like at least one of them always turns out to be some sort of mad liar. It's entertaining watching ex military guys constantly being annoyed by a shoeless hippy out in the wild.
