After wrapping up the Casemiro deal in record time it seems we’ve reverted back to our usual selves and are negotiating deals at a snails pace.
Don't think so, we keep getting our bids knocked back so probably waiting for the right moment, despite what Vermijl says. If a bid gets rejected it weakens our position.

All this talk about no bid is bollocks. It's clearly being held up on the Ajax side but they want to blame us for being slow.

The moment they give us the green light it'll get done in minutes. Ajax are just being stingy wanting Ziyech for a bargain, but want an insane fee from us.

Can't imagine Antony is taking this very well at all.

Can't we just do a straight swap with Beek? Do we really have to make it more complicated than that?

I want us to get Antony, but I wish we had Edwin upstairs even more.

Can't we have both?
Just why? VDS is a commerical mastermind he literally is Woodward of Ajax. He has transformed their commerical business. He rarely if at all gets involved with the football side. He will not make us any better or any worse

Hence why I said CEO. He’s done a brilliant job at Ajax and even though he doesn’t handle football matters on a day to day basis he’s still a football man. I’d much rather him than some unknown quantity like Arnold.

Need Sir Jim to table an offer first to the Glazers to buy the club.

If it's a player they're after, we could offer to loan them Diallo and/or Pellestri. Or maybe Chong.

Is Antony really worth the fuss? If this still can’t get done even with a 100M package, i reckon United won’t be too fussed and will go out and spend a third of the money to PSV for Gakpo

They don’t want a loan. We can offer to sell them these players, not loan out

Have they specifically said that about any player? I know there was something about Ziyech, but I thought that was more Chelsea's end saying that they wanted a sale and not a loan.

Sigh I thought this would have been done a while ago but now it seems we are waiting for Ajax to find an alternative we have to watch this drag on

We will conclude this asap because Ajax still need to do things on their end, imo.
They need to know who they are getting first. They wont sell Antony without their next target all sorted.

You just said why. Those are all very desirable qualities for a top club to have, and he has a proven track record of success as CEO at another big club, by all acounts. Richard Arnold might do well in the position, but he's a relatively unknown entity as a CEO at this point. Van Der Sar has been doing it since 2016, seemingly very well. "Best in class" as Gary Neville likes to say.

I think they'll sign Justin Kluivert.
Whenever he played for Ajax it was as a LW, not on the right. He's right footed.

Seems as illogical as switching Bergwijn to the right when he clearly is far more productive on the left.

Nope, Ajax has got plenty talents of it's own already. Need a definite starter, an immediate fix. Not a 6-12 month project.

Apart from they actually are able to get Ziyech.

They just don't want to pay the asking price but expect other clubs to pay over the odds for their players. Vile club with an abhorrent manager. I feel sorry for his wife. I bet he demands food on the table for when he comes in from work.

clean 50m, Donny and Chong in the deal, maybe, plus an Amad loan? Could be beneficial for both parties on balance, although I'd still prefer Amad to get 20 games for a lower-end PL club whilst building up his strength and situational awareness within PL-paced games...

We don’t need Donny as we are overstacked as it is in midfield, Chong is utter wank, Amad is an interesting prospect, but, given his Rangers loan deal, not likely to make an instant impact (plus, why would Ajax develop someone elses players), so that offer is total trash.

mind you, I do think this is happening, but I’m sure it will be cash only.

Throw in Garnacho or Diallo, knock the transfer fee back, and just get it done. Why does every transfer have to be so difficult?

Not having Antony isn’t going to make or break Ajax’s season. So stop being difficult and sell. It’s an amazing deal for you.

…Or the injury on Martial is worse then being told. I mean if Martial is out the rest of this year for example, imagine the prices other clubs would demand for their players. It’s bad as it it’s already.

Maybe the bid for Antony is being held because of this - money instead needed for a number nine?

It seems Ajax are dragging their feet with this deliberately
I guess they want to hold on to him which I can’t really blame them, they’ve made some money with the players that have already left but I guess they don’t want to lose anymore this season.

If Anthony does go they would prefer to sort out a replacement first I would imagine.

It's almost a certainty Ajax will never get an offer like this for him again.
Yes. And I also think we hold all the cards with that money being mentioned. Maybe we're looking in another direction and still considering other ways to spend, but if we want him, he's ours I believe.

He's not going to get much time behind three wingers - so unless we're looking to move Rashford in the near future or EtH rates Garnacho that highly, move him on to develop and get a fee for him.
rashford looks like he might be playing up top, and martial is as well (when he isnt injured). Rashford also has his contract coming up. So not sure what 3 wingers referring to then. All i know is sancho and then antony. Selling garnacho would be a massive mistake. dude should be playing a lot this season and becoming a star for us, not somewhere else.
