I mean he had a number of other parts of his game that he could have used as a criticism but he went straight to one his main strengths and called it out as a weakness! He watched a ten minute YouTube comp but didn’t realise it was slomo.
I guess so,He watched a ten minute YouTube comp but didn’t realise it was slomo.
He’s so slow. He needs to be more explosive.I guess so,
this one isn't though

So basically you’ve barely watched him. Makes sense.

Dude you really need to watch some more clips. Antony's signature move is cutting to the left with a short burst of speed and shooting. The Robben way, all about acceleration.A long punt down the line with half the pitch free is nowhere near the same as being explosive in dribbling in tight quarters, which is the point I made. Top speed Vs acceleration.
Exactly this. He’s literally like Robben used to be. Every single person knew exactly what Robben wanted to do. He was going to cut inside and shoot from range. The problem was you just didn’t know when he would do it. And when he did, then you were normally too late.
Antony is very similar in that aspect. His quick feet and change of direction would be described as explosive as he’s able to get the half yard he needs.
I honestly don’t know how he could be described as not explosive.
Second one for me, although I don't think it will be a direct choice. It's harder to find players with the qualities De Jong has and there's not really anyone capable of playing that role in our team as it stands.
We could use another wide player for sure but if Sancho and Rashford find form and stay fit, we might be alright for this season. Amad has a lot of quality if used correctly, Elanga's a grafter and even Garnacho's highly rated.

In fact, you should need to watch the clip i posted again, even though it's a long sprint, his first few meters(you know the acceleration) are pretty insane
Certain things are divided by debate. But a lot of your posts are just bonkers.I didn't say I've only watched a 10 min video did I? I said get a 10 min vid and compare it to the other players I mentioned.
I swear this place is a circlejerk where any negative opinions on a player are shot down, we could be linked to the tea lady for £50m and people would be in here praising the transfer. I make a long post outlining concerns and you get snidey one liners.
I guess it's what you get on a football forum. Need to really stop bothering.
I bet your reply is 'oh you're wrong I'm so right' despite me pointing a simple way to test it - compare the players' videos I mentioned.

Why does this keep being repeated when their outgoings had been decided prior to us getting EtH? Not much we could have done there regardless of how early in the window we went for him. Would have had to be talking to them from January. We waited too long in the window. If we agreed a fee before Ajax sold half of their team we could probably have gotten a decent deal.
I don't care about flashy players. End product is what wins games. He doesn't look like he has it.i'm fuking mind blown that there is negative push back on wanting to sign this lad.....he's brilliant on the ball, will have OT standing and waiting to see what he'll do with the ball at his feet which is what we've been missing for years. If he puts a bloody end product to it then we'd have ourselves a real top class player
look what mahrez does, salah, robben, even that cvnt greenwood....the left footed player on the right is so effective
To be fair I’m flattered you’ve had to go back digging over 2 years ago. But ah yes it was crazy of me to want to sign the most productive winger in the world at the time. Show me where I said Mbappe was the only player in the world better than Sancho.Yeah, look at your own post history. Frothing at the mouth in 2020 to sign Sancho for £100m because according to you the only player better than him around was Mbappe. Forgive me for taking what you say with a pinch of salt.
The truth is, there is no “alternative” to Jadon Sancho. Legit alternatives are the likes of Mbappe. Anyone else other than Sancho is just another playing filling a hole in the squad.
Antony top speed in the UCL = 35.71km
Luis Diaz top speed in the UCL = 35.5km
Below are two recent games where both players played against Benfica and I'll let you people decide who is the more 'explosive' player. To me Antony looks the more dangerous player if we're just to take the evidence of the highlights below, and just as explosive over the first few yards.

The Bayern signings were decided months ago. That's why it was done so early in the window. We were not looking at the Ajax players until weeks ago.Huh? no they hadn't. They didn't know if Timber was coming or going, we only went in for Martinez way after making Timber enquires.
Bayern wanted Ajax players and had 2 signed in the first couple of weeks in the window....we wanted Ajax players and Martinez is barely official 2 months into the window.
And Mazroui was free and Gravenberch only had a year left and wasn't signing a new contract. The Bayern signings were decided months ago. That's why it was done so early in the window. We were not looking at the Ajax players until weeks ago.

The problem we have is a serious lack of depth in forwards going into a season where we have a lot of fixtures along with a world cup slap bang in the middle of it where virtually all our primary attacking players will be taking part. We are just one or two injuries away from our season falling apart. Right now, we may have to bite the bullet and pay a premium to get a forward in because that extra 15m we do end up paying would potentially be recouped many times over by the difference of getting top 4 and not getting top 4.To be fair lads, @marktan said he watched him and then asked to refer to a 10 min video on YouTube to demonstrate said lack of explosiveness. But will disagree with him, his acceleration is quite good. There’s a sense of him needing to be a bit more polished however and I’d say he is not worth 60 million right now and if we do agree on that sum, we are paying about an additional 15 million for potential here.
Where? Link?
Because nothing like that has been said by Ajax.

I violently dislike Antony, like, really feck him, but he's lightning fast and also explosive.I'm sorry, how can anyone look at the video and say he's an explosive dribbler? Most of the dribbles that run at the defender in the video are slow and he ends up losing the ball?
Look at a video of Dembele dribbling, Neymar, Mane, that's what I mean by explosiveness.
The best thing about that video is his passing and his work rate. I mean it's not a super controversial opinion - take Coutinho for example, a good close control dribbler, good pass and shot. But the one thing he really lacks compared to Neymar is the dribbling speed and that showed at Barca. Give both the ball at a standing start and Neymar can breeze past people if he wants. It's one of the things that separates the very good and the elite.
Exactly what we need in the team.I violently dislike Antony, like, really feck him, but he's lightning fast and also explosive.
He's a cheating cnut, inconsistent and lacks end product, but quickness and explosiveness he has.
Did I mention he's a cnut though?

This makes little sense. You're telling me we publicly announced Ten Hag back in April (it means we had been talking to him many months before that) and he never intimated us the players he wanna take with him? And somehow, Ten Hag woke up one day a few weeks ago and suddenly realized he needs Antony? That sounds ridiculous. No, when you're looking at a manager, you must also look at the players he presently manages. And the first question you should ask said manager is, okay which players you wanna bring with you. This transfer should have been planned out many months ago, not now.The Bayern signings were decided months ago. That's why it was done so early in the window. We were not looking at the Ajax players until weeks ago.
