Who are PL superstars that flopped in La Liga?

I can think of Coutinho but can't remember much else.

Who are then the La Liga superstars that flopped in the PL?

Jonathan Woodgate too (injury crisis)

Thomas Gravesen wasnt a superstar but he did have some notoriety in the PL

I genuinely don't think the door is closed on his United future, like it is for Rashford and Sancho. If he does well then I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the fold for us. Also, I know he's become a meme, but I think there's a player in there. I enjoyed his first season in the Premier league, it just went to shit after that (along with everything else).
It wasn't too bad for first season but wouldn't expect someone to say he enjoyed Antony's first season. Your opinion of course and I respect it just bit surprised.

Looks like he is lighting up La liga. 2 G+A in 2 games and has matched his output in the PL last season.

Scored again. Cue the comments about how United were holding him back. Truth is, Betis is his level where the shackles of expectation are off.

What baffles me is how he’s playing exactly the same but suddenly he can steer a shot on target now.

This is what not being weighed down by a ridiculous transfer fee could look like or not slagged off by esteemed former players or media critics/influencers at every opportunity because of what a club is prepared to pay for you. No matter how well he played for us Paul Merson to take one example would always use him as the face of our failed recruitment policy of recent years.

Another £5 million added to the transfer fee during the summer
My thinking as well. Hopefully he continues this way and we could actually get a decent fee for him which would be great as until recently I thought it'd be few loans before his contract expires in 2027.
Same. Jokes aside I much rather see someone do well who wasn't a diva cnt while they re here or on their way out, than someone who was.
Yeah same for me. Antony was professional and wasn't his fault club paid as much as Ajax demanded.

Just a player who couldn’t handle the transfer fee and pressure of playing for Utd and the impact of social media who made him into a laughing stock.
There is zero pressure where he is now and he’s enjoying it clearly

I always felt there is a decent player in him but the moment we decided to spend 80m on him, we made him a flop. Had he been bought for 40m , no would have said much.

Couldn't handle the pressure here at all. There's a 30m player here and the bettee he does during his loan, the more money we'll get for him next summer. Let's hope he ends up at 10+ goals.

Let's not get too excited . He started in a similar way when he joined us also scoring on his debut and then teams figured out if you force him wide and not let him cut in then he wouldn't be effective.

yes hopefully he keeps this up till season's end where we can get a good fee out of him before he's found out again

Confidence plays a big part, he was a good player in his first year here. He was good tracking back and going forward.

But I think he just can’t deal with defenders who mark him aggressively, it doesn’t shit his game and that’s what will help him in Spain.

Another goal. Doing well at Betis.
Thought he would thrive in the right environment. There is so much pressure at United so Betis is probably a better experience for him at the moment. The better he does the more chance we have of getting some money for him.

I would recall if we have the option, we are desperately light on bodies
Cannot recall players outside of the transfer window so it is a non starter. We need to not be foolish here, he was rubbish for us and would be if he came back. The loan was to get him playing and try to rescue some value ahead of a permanent sale in the summer and it is working out perfectly for that.

One of the worst signings in EPL history turns into a completely different player three matches into a loan spell.

We are a club that simply ruins players.

Didn't he score a goal in all of his first three matches for us?

At this rate I won’t be surprised if we sell Garnacho in the summer and he turns into prime Yamal then.

What a brilliant finish. Glad he's doing well, looks like he's found his level, guaranteed money in the summer then, everyone's happy.
