His transfer fee almost makes me believe something is going on behind the scenes. Or was. Did somebody's pockets get filled by that fee?
Yes. Ten Haag's own agent. How the relationship between ETH, the SEG agency and the insane transfer fees involved in the club signing Hoijlund, Antony etc for vast amounts hasn't properly been investigated I will never know.

Kees Vos who runs the agency seems to be ETH's best mate, and also represents him. ETH's own son works for the agency. They advised on the Antony sale - and of course the higher the transfer fee went the bigger the agent's cut.

As well as representing Hoijlund and getting a cut from that fee, they also were involved in the Amrabat loan and selling Zidane Iqbal. Apparently United staff were not happy at all about how cosy it all was.

Interestingly Stefan De Vrij sued them last year over hidden fees and was awarded 5 million euros in court.

ETH, his Dutch mates, his own son and the agency somehow managed to blow £600 million of the club's money on players who are absolutely abysmal, plus got a £16 million payout for being sacked after our worst Premier League season in history. It will take us a decade to recover.

Was he not part of the same agency that Ten Hag was and his son was employed by? Same for Rasmus and a few others United got their pants pulled down by?
I read in an Athletic article yesterday that SEG represented both Hojlund and the club for his transfer. How is that even allowed? In any other industry that would be considered malpractice and an enormous conflict of interest.

Maybe. But is all of it inaccurate?
Well it's an opinion piece. They seem to be laying little blame on Murtough, and they are extrapolating what happens until contract expiry so yes.

Man of the match tonight on his Betis debut

We really need all our loanees to really storm their new clubs and new leagues, it will really help this summer.

Like with Rashford. I hope he does well on loan so we can demand a decent fee in the summer.

Amorim is going to need every penny he can get.

We do and the good thing is that the narrative is to always make out they’re doing amazing now they’ve left United. This may help us.
For example there’s a media narrative that Sancho is doing really well at Chelsea when in actual fact he continues to stink the place up.
Antony being given a motm award on the weekend …by Real Betis (nothing suspicious there) and it’s being lapped up by media outlets.
I know Antony very well and I didn’t watch the betis game but I am 100% certain he was not the motm.

Hang on. You think Antony winning man of the match in La Liga is part of a conspiracy to degrade United?

This was every touch of Antony in that game. The other players on the pitch must have been absolutely dog shit if he got MOTM for this.

He's got much more time to think in Spain. He always lacked that intelligence.

It's basically the same kind of performance he's given for us most times this season. Decent, nothing special. If he does that in a United shirt, this thread just fills up with another couple of pages circlejerking about how he's the worst signing ever. Through the fresh eyes and new signing optimism of a Betis fan, it's MOTM-worthy.

Unless there are Sancho/Rashford type attitude problems (which I haven't heard) I don't see why we didn't just keep him and play him. Most of the very few bits of good football we've played under Amorim happened with him and Amad both on the pitch down that right hand side, but Amorim just wants to continue with his straight-up five defenders for reasons I don't understand.

Apart from the several times he hasn’t don’t that, you have a great point.

We've played eight games so far this year and two of Dalot/Mazraoui/Malacia have started as wing backs in six of them.

I'm hoping Dorgu offers a lot going forward and brings balance to the team in that sense, shifting Maz to RCB, but it's been very clear that Dalot and Mazraoui have been his first choice for the two wingback spots for a while now, and we've been horrible going forward pretty much the whole time they've been occupying those positions.

No not that bit. Betis probably just gave it to him because he was making his debut. No issues with that but a few outlets are running with it. Which isn’t a “conspiracy” but it’s definitely done in attempt to degrade United.

 Yeah I mean there’s a few clips there where he beats his man with a bit of skill but then is too slow to go anywhere afterwards and then goes back to square one. Him in a nutshell.

Fair play. I misinterpreted your point.

Saw a couple good passes and decent shot. They were definitely feeding him. He's not dogshit, but not that effective. Still one trick pony. He's also in a new league. They will figure him out soon, and block any real cut ins with his left foot.

Pretty good performance as debut. Still think he's gonna smash it there.

You're not joking are you?

That he could keep a ball under pressure? Abso-fecking-lutely not.

He’ll be one of Betis best players for the remainder of the season I’m sure.

Didn’t do enough attacking wise here for sure, but I preferred him keeping the ball under pressure to watching the majority of our players lose it time and time again.

I genuinely believe I can have some good performances in La Liga aswell compared to the PL.

I don't rate a lot of legends in La Liga that highly.

Yeah once those La Liga fullbacks realise he just cuts inside all the time he's going to find it difficult again, but good luck to him! Seems like he might be able to make himself a bit of a cult hero at Betis, let's hope they start comparing him to Denilson and sentiment takes over all rationale.

There’s a video highlight of him floating around , he took a shot that hit row z , he tried getting past a player but kicked over it the sideline and 1 of him giving away possession. They do show his “assist “ at the end though

It's great that they at least seem to think he does well. We need to sell him as expensive as possible.

I mean, almost every single video highlight of a player’s every touch has that.

It was clearly a fecking assist though and he did brilliantly to bring about that goal. He also had quite a few other good moments.

Don’t let that stop you though.

I’d say his reaction to being played out if position by EtH qualifies

That’s not an assist actually but yes he’s class , a performance produced not seen since his Ajax days

He had a blinder vs Chelsea last season. Which obviously doesnt mean anything.
