Seems like even when you leave United the only refs still feck you. Never a red in a million years

Hopefully he doesn't do what Lingard did and want a return to United. He needs to leave while he has regained his form & we shouldn't make the mistake of bringing him back.

With the way he's been playing, we might even get like £30m for him.

If he keeps this up I really do think he'll be back in the fold at United. This isn't a Rashford or Sancho situation where the player was frozen out.

Where’d he play though, WB and AM are the only positions he could potentially play and he’s not a specialist in either.

We know he’s not good enough in England though. This would be a Lingard situation where we could make a mess out of a chance to get decent money after a strong loan and then end up selling for peanuts a year later.

It absolutely has to be a question of how much money we can get for him in the summer, not a possible redemption arc.

Real Betis fans have fallen in love with him after his strong start over there (several goals & a few assists in his first six games), they are already calling for him to be signed on a permanent basis. I hope it happens but if it does, Betis will likely have to break their transfer record, which is currently around 30 million or so.

He won’t be back, Amorim has correctly said he struggles in the PL because of his lack of physicality. We’ll cash in over the summer which is t
best for everyone involved.

Glad to see him doing well and playing with more freedom in a league that gives him more time and space. He never asked for his price tag when he came; hopefully we can recoup a decent enough chunk of his fee.

Denilson back in a day

I read somewhere that the fee would be 41m. I'd take that. I know it cost double to get him but better to get half the money that was spent to get him than have him unhappy and rotting away on the bench.

We need him (and a few others) to become amenable to Saudi Pro League. We seem to be the only PL club with ethical players who are not tempted by petrodollars.

I too would take that. He is very unlikely to ever make it in the PL, so it would be the best option for everyone.

Absolutely. Problem is, I think at times when United have signed players for massive fees they are reluctant in offloading them for cheap but I think they are going to have to just the loss for a few windows and finally get the right type of player in that is able to play in style of play we want.

The problem now with tactics is, one issue is fixed then another two problems are created. They just can't seem to find a balance with the squad of players right now.

There's no chance we'd get anywhere near that for him. Outside the top 3 in Spain they haven't spent more than €20m for years.

He wasn't frozen out of the squad, but it definitely felt like he was deliberately being used as little as possible to encourage him to leave. The three times he got subbed on at RWB he did quite well and our entire right side attack instantly looked better (he and Amad combining rather than Amad having to try to do everything himself), so it was strange he didn't get more time there.

Casemiro was in the same position, but unlike the others we didn't manage to shift him (and now due to injuries we're having to use him more often).

Happy for him, never had any issues with his application, he always put in the effort.

It's clear he does probably lack that extra yard of pace to make it in the prem, I think

Similar issue with Memphis. Both tried hard but just couldn’t make the step up physically.

They’ll do well in other leagues.

Same. Jokes aside I much rather see someone do well who wasn't a diva cnt while they re here or on their way out, than someone who was.
I mean he was accused of assaulting his former girlfriend. I want Antony to do well on his loan too (so we can sell him), but it could be he's a much worse person than most of the "divas" we'd had to suffer from.

Such an overrated league with space to park lorries on the pitch.

Never been the intensity of Serie A 90's or PL post 2000's.

Wouldn't be surprised if Antony killed it in the CL for a Spanish club with both the confidence and the unlimited energy in comparison to the other leagues in European Cups.

I saw the match, he was nothing special, bang average in fact. He couldn’t do anything at all in the game that can even be in highlights of the game. Isco was head and shoulders above anyone. The chance that led to the penalty and Betis winner, Anthony was miles clear on goal but Betis player didn’t pass to him, instead decided to cover the ball and invite tackle from Rudiger resulting in Penalty.

And NO he wasn’t MOTM, Isco was.

The comments about the strength of the league are always a bit bizarre to me.

The Spanish teams usually beat the English teams in European competition.

Always said it wasn't for effort at United, he'd demand the ball constantly and never let his head drop even in the worst periods.

That's why I've always maintained he's not our worst ever signing. The fact it's looking like we might actually shift him further proves that as well. He may well have cost 30 million pounds more than a certain former Chelsea rent boy but he's not as bad a signing.

It is more physical here though, think he gets bullied more. He's not the only one mind.

La liga has a very small group of elite teams and then the drop off comes quick. Years of uneven tv money splitting and gradual poaching of players has taken its toll. A league can have the best team in it but still be a weak league.
