he is. If he had a half decent left foot he would be in the top five of the best wingers in world.

If he'd a decent left foot he'd be the best winger in the world*. As it is he's not far off.

*Unless Ronaldo still counts as a winger.

I'd honestly have him as player of the season. Off the boil at the start of the season, coming into it as the business end is here.. As opposed to say Silva, who started off great, but fades when it matters.

Our player of the season, or the Premier League's player of the season?

Both.

I'm euphoric after his performance today obviously, but take a look at his productivity compared to minutes played. It's a different ball-game.

He's been doing this for months. It's basically like sitting down each week to watch yet another rape.

I'd let him feck me but for the feeling I get that he'd only use the outside of his cock to do it.

Off the boil when he was asked to play at RB because everyone was injured?
He did very well for us out of position.

Van Persie is player of the season without a doubt.

I wanted to make a thread about this insignificant point

Why are first half performances of the season forgotten? People act as if only the performances in the run in count, forgetting that if not for players who did well in the first half, the team wouldn't have a base to push on in the second half. Players who have been shortchanged by this collective memory loss in our team include the likes of Berbatov (last season), and Nani (this season).

I just love this guy. Brilliant once again.

He missed a 1 on 1 against Blackburn 2 seasons ago in the run in.. It ended 0-0
We lost the title by a point.

Well done LAV :D

LAV actually means Lion in Bosnian. :D

He was distinctely average on the wing as well for the first couple of months. I remember being frustrated with him against fecking Aldershot Town for not daring to take on his man.

From about the Wolves-match an onwards though, he's been not only unplayable, but basically untouchable.

A goal or assist every 92.5 minutes despite playing 3 games or so at right back.

I think he should be considered for our player of the season, however I don't think he's played enough to be considered for Premier League player of the year. That will probably go to Van Persie.

Well admittedly at the time of writing this post, my brain didn't acknowledge the existence of one Robin van Persie.

And also, if we're looking at United only, for his overall input and goalscoring exploits, as well as being influential throughout the season, it's hard to ignore Rooney.

Rooney has to be up there for us this season, and Carrick as well for the way he's been much improved and has covered up for a lot of our midfield problems. Then there's Evans as well, who should be considered.

P Nev? I'd like to hear it.

The interview

I never thought it was anything but a shot.

I think he was being modest. The way he struck it and the shape of his body afterwards shows he was trying to swing it towards goal. G Nev talked about it after the game, it was almost like a Carlos freekick.

Incredible goal. Any winger will appreciate just how difficult it is to pull off a goal like that.

Love his honesty. I think he was really hitting it hard across goal so that any touch will likely lead the ball to the net. He hit it towards goal alright, but might have not intended to target that specific spot. Don't know if I am making sense, but I think that is what he meant by 50-50.

That was my thought too. "At the very worst we get a corner."

His goal reminded me of Ronaldo's verses Fulham in (I think) 2007, when we'd played pretty crap and Ronaldo basically decided 'feck this' and went and scored. Tonio's was very similar today.

Tonight was almost salvation for him after that miss 2 years ago ago in the same fixture, I'd hazard a guess that that played a big part in his celebration (that and the fact it was could be the goal that clinches us the title)

Well Ronaldo's was a brilliant individual effort from the halfway line and Valencia's was a speculative punt with the keeper out of position.

You don't shoot - you don't score. He meant in terms of impact and one player saying - I am going to win this for my team. Stop being bitter and just go away for a bit mate.

If he finishes the season as limply as he's played this last month then all bets are off.

For award purposes aren't the ballots cast really early - remember that happening in one of the recent seasons where at least the one voted by the players went to someone that had started off really well but, tailed off the last 3rd but, still won it.

As far as our player of the season - I find it really hard to choose between Tony V. DDG and Carrick. And that's not even putting Rooney into the mix who has been immense as well.

RVP will definitely be player of the year. Aren't the votes done in February or something?

Anyway, Valencia has been the best player in the league since he came back from injury. He has been brilliant and I honesty believe he has become our most important player.

What an incredibly brilliant buy Valencia has been. Just magnificent. Best winger in the world at the moment. I can't even see a credible debate for an alternative.

When people make fun of Fergie for his "no value in the market" statement. Just consider the following:

Antonio Valencia 16m
Ashley Young 16m
Luis Nani 17m

Stewart Downing 20M

6 years living in the country and he is still struggling to speak a bit of english? anyway who cares as long as he keeps on producing this kind of performance for us.:)
