It literally shocks me how little he offers when he plays. Bar from winning a free kick in the last minutes of the game Valencia somehow manages to constantly wreck our free flowing football with his neanderthal-esque ways of over hitting the ball and just sometimes raging the ball when it times of danger. He really must have a simple mind. Absolutely shocking.

You are an arse! It's perfectly fine to criticise players, but comments like that should not come from United fans.

People are being Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime now. He was perfectly fine.

He looked clueless when receiving the ball at times. Just went backwards and didn't think about trying to do anything productive.

This happens literally every game. The whole concept of improvisation or creativity are just completely absent from his game. It is ridiculously annoying when the ball goes to Valencia and you immediately set yourself to anticipate a give away from him and it happens almost every single time.

Of all the wingers in the game, I've never seen a quality winger who is as heavily built as valencia is. Was far more agile and nimble during his time at Wigan.

No he was not. Young in the first half offered a far better work rate and build up play than Valencia did in the second.

When people are praising him for today it goes to show how far standards have dropped. Last season he was a complete different player.

Another shocking performance.

Mid table player. Still cannot believe people think he's better than Nani.

I can start to understand why we're looking at Zaha now. Zaha seems to me like he'll offer pretty much exactly the same as Valencia, attribute wise, but is a much younger version.

Fergie might be beginning to think that Valencia has lost his pace over the first few yards. Could be that Zaha comes in to compete with Valencia next season, then if Zaha proves himself Valencia will get moved on.

I wouldn't go onto calling him a mid-table player. His ability and his performances for the last two seasons were really really good. It is just shocking how he has deteriorated as a player.

This, he did just fine today. Not great, not poor.

I rarely single out players like this but I was disappointed with his play today. A victory against Pool is always a reason for celebration but its his general contribution to a game and the standard level for what is an acceptable performance for him has just decreased tremendously over this season in the caf.

He didn't do anything because we decided to stop keeping the ball, when he did get the ball he did ok.

Young was poor today, but still there was big difference between him and Valencia.

Thought he relieved pressure quite well today.

Drew a few fouls and kept their left flank honest.

Yeah to be fair he did draw a few fouls, but is that what we expect from a united winger for him to be deemed to have made a decent contribution? Nani can't come back quick enough for me.. tired of our tumescent wingplay. Rafael looks a bigger threat than both going forwards.

Firstly, they started dominating as soon as they went from a three man midfield to a two of Allen and Gerrard. That really shouldn't have happened as most of our substitutions were defensive. I thought Young played a vital role in us dominating the first half with him basically closing down everybody on the pitch along with Welbeck and Cleverly. It was basically really face paced chaos which Liverpool couldn't handle.

In the second half you basically know where Valencia is a player. Hugs the touchline and does his job. He basically appears to be scared to attempt anything out of the ordinary. More than wanting to do something right, he appears to be afraid of doing something wrong. When they brought in Sturridge, they more or less started playing like how we played against them in the first half. Not that I'm blaming Valencia for all of it, of course I'm not. It is just Young provided that willingness to go from his RW position to CM to actually close down a player which made Liverpool players extremely nervous on the ball and resulted in a lot ***-possessions in the first half which was just completely absent in the second.

Well, that's similar to what had been happening before Nani got injured...

Better than Young. Strong on the ball and actually ran with it at players. Put in a dangerous cross or two. Looking much better than the last few matches.

Valencia gives the ball away almost every time he gets it? I think we can confirm you watch games with your eyes closed.

He wasnt poor by any means but he needs to get better. Looks very indecisive. Had an average game. We were really on the backfoot most of the 2nd half so it didnt help his cause. Still expect better from him..

Young's substitution didn't make Carrick and Cleverley stop controlling the game. Valencia did just as much with the ball at feet and whilst I agree he didn't do as much defensively considering the ability of that Liverpool team it shouldn't have been an issue. Sturridge meant our midfield stood off more instead of pressing to protect our aging CB's.

Not much you can do when you're fouled.

Any defender can foul. Evntually they'll pay with cards and sending offs.

And if Webb wasn't trying ever so hard to award Liverpool everything, Johnson on a yellow should have been sent off for rugby tackling Valencia when he'd got round him yet again.

So no it's not the only thing we expect from a United winger but he unsettled their flank today, negated the threat of Johnson, and should have seen him sent off.

He did what he was told to today. Put some pressure off us. Our whole team sat so incredibly deep it was difficult for him to create anything. Not going to blame him today. He was decent.

I am not Young's biggest fan but I really thought he played well today because of Young, Cleverly and Carrick basically jamming and closing down their midfield in the first half. Young got out his position to make interceptions and started counter attacking in opposition to Valencia who was yet again one dimensional IMO and unsuccessfully so.

See my edit. I think Sturridge coming on influenced us to drop deeper and protect our CB's more. You can only press as a unit.

 Valencia was quality at times against Johnson today. We needed strength and danger on that side which Valencia provided. It kept Johnson pinned back more than he'd have liked.

Also put in a dangerous cross and was one of the few players that looked like keeping the ball towards the end.

Better. Judging him vs Young (when we had much more possession and attacking intent) is plain ignorant. I liked him today, was trying those runs of his and played a couple of good crosses. Good defensive shift as usual.

He is not there year, nowhere near, but I think he is slowly improving.

I don't see what he's adding to the team at the minute.

Today was better, but he still has a long way to go to be a useful player for us again.
