TRANSLATION:

About his future at United. "I have another year on my contract, all I think about is finishing well these last 5 matches of the season and what is coming with the National Team. I would like to stay in Manchester and if that doesn't happen, I would like to stay in England".

 He's admitting that his future is in doubt

Why does he just try to hit the ball as hard as possible when he's crossing?

Use your brain FFS.

Surely someone, anyone would have had a word with him about his crossing? He still gets into good positions to cross but then it's pretty much the same thing over and over for two seasons now. It's beyond ridiculous.

Smacked 3 good crossing oppertunities into the first defender's ankles. The next time he passes it past the first defender straight to the 2nd one. The next chance to cross he smashed it at goal

All he seems to know how to do is leather it full power. There's no precision to his crossing attempts, he just absolutely twats it.

Thought he had a decent second half, but he's clearly not very good.

Far better speed merchants around, admittedly none of them are built like a brick shit house like Valencia, but thats basically all he's good for these days.

I thought he was good today. Worked hard and played with much more energy and seemed like he actually understood that he can beat a man. pass and moved well and I thought it was a good performance from him.

Had a couple of nice powerful runs and passing moves. No idea how to cross. Our only quality balls from the right came from Jones' crossing and that was in between poor ones.

I feel like a broken record but god dam he's useless at crossing, and what's the point of having a winger who cant cross ? A Shadow of his former self, he drills it hard and hopes for the best, every 1/100 works, not good enough though.

I wonder if the new manager will try to offload him...

Got an assist but it was just another smash across the box from close range!

even Jones set up two goals with crosses ffs! That shows how poor his crossing is if Jones is setting up goals with crossing from deep!

That passed off as a good performance because of how we played overall second half. His final ball is just awful. Cannot cross and beat the first man to save his life.

My thoughts exactly. I cannot stand this from him anymore. Yes he runs around the pitch a lot, but he is primarily an attacker and needs to attack and create chances.

He assisted Mata's second.

The 'Tony Drill' was out in force today. Seriously, it's all he ever does - it's bizarre. He gets so much of the ball and manages to get into good positions then just leathers it anywhere.

Yeah, Phil Jones had two assists one of which was a peach of a cross.
I'm glad Valencia played with directness. If you look at the map of his passing today it will be opposite of what it was a few months ago. He very rarely went backwards and played with soul and confidence.

He played decent and his second half performance definitely was better. Yet his crossing is awful. I hope we are looking for a genuine upgrade on this guy in the summer.

He can cross, but he insists on that driven cross. He just needs some variety in his crossing and he'd be back to his best.

Thought he was brilliant in the second half. People slate him because he has a few (admittedly all of them) bad crosses, but out attacking play came from him and Evra, and then Mata when he came on. Remove Rooney's two goals and he would have been a 5 performance - one which was a penalty. Valencia drove our attack again and again. His link-up in front of goal was also terrific. In the second half he also started running at the defense at full speed, which was lovely to see.

We have been saying that for 2 seasons now. I hope we are not willing to wait for that miracle to happen. Either we move him on completely or he is limited to a purely squad role for certain kind of matches only. When we were struggling to break Norwich in the first half, he played three downright awful crosses without beating the first man from great positions, all while creating the square root of feck all, despite seeing so much of the ball. As a winger, when the defense is so tight, he should be more creative but he is so awful that I don't expect him to do anything despite getting good opportunities to put balls into the box. Says it all when Jones crosses better than him almost every time.

He did nothing of the sort. Time and again he fecked up excellent situations by hammering the cross at the first man. Remove Valencia and put in a winger who could cross and we'd have scored a few more goals today.

He takes up some great positions, it makes it more infuriating when he hits the first man. Certainly got better as the match went on though and hopefully he has a good end to the season.

I agree with you.

I agree with the crossing part, which is why he was so much better in the second half when he more or less stopped crossing and rather kept running at them through the center playing quick one-twos with Mata/Kagawa/Welbeck and created a lot of almosts.

Horrible first half, but excellent in the second. With that said, we really need a better player taking on the amount of ball time he gets. We'd score many more goals.

He just kept running and running until he eventually lost the ball. You can't just ignore the crossing part, he's a fecking winger.

As a backup I dont think there's much wrong with having him around. The problem is when he's plan A, and that Rooney directs the ball out onto the right hand side so much that the main thing we do as a team is get the ball onto the right and try to cross. He's terrible at that. Our Plan A needs to be a lot better than this.

Now say we go out and get a much better plan A in the summer to play on the right, or Mata plays a lot better from the position. Having someone to come on late in the game with pace and power and an alright pass wouldnt be the worst thing would it? It'd be like the complete opposite of Mata and different to having someone putting quality balls into the box all game, so that contrasting approach might even be beneficial.

He is about 100x better when he passes the ball on the ground in short distances. When he crosses it, you know what is coming
