That's not what he says, the reports are strange because what he says is that he should/hope to know before the WC. From that reporters have slightly tweaked his words into "you will know before the WC", while you could assume the tweaked version it's not what he said and he also used "hope" several times which is less reported. I'm not saying that he won't announce it if it's done but he didn't claim that he would announce it, in fact Bouhafsi talked about early July for a potential announcement.
To hold what? It's not guaranteed that he has something to say about it.
I think it's a great idea, we'll be able to attract better players due to the great climate.

Would be shocked if he even went to Barca at this point. Does seem like he's bottled the move, maybe due to the abuse Atletico fans gave him, but that seems pretty wimpy to me, they were never going to be pleased to see him leave to a rival.
Coming to us really is a win-win for all parties though.

2. Barca can spend the money on more urgent areas in their squad like CM
3. We get a world class player (who almost joined us last year)

You forgot, 5. Atletico keep their talisman.
I think all that flirting has left a bad taste in some of their fans and in Griezmann as well though. That booing in his last match was really poor - did we ever boo say, Ronaldo or Rooney when they were flirting with other teams? And Griezmann had just won them the Europa league too.

I don't see it too, but the Atletico fans clearly did, hence the boos.
That's the speculation from the press not his flirting, the only thing you can say is that he hasn't squashed the rumors.

The journalism world around us has become a 24 hour media circus. We're on here debating friends of a marketing associate's tweet. It's just the way of any figure in the spotlight. If anything, for someone like Griezmann whose marketing value actually means something to his future esp after football, it'd be silly to just sit in the shadows.

Athletico fans because he openly flirts with other clubs for the past 2-3 years.

Some may even "follow" him on social media, just to keep up to date, with his transfer saga.
