What he said about Griezmann is that lots of media reports are saying AG to Barca has died down and won’t be happening. That’s all that’s been said right now. No mention of United with those reports but no real mention of AG staying at Atletico either...just that him to Barca won’t be happening so there is a chance he does end up going to United.

Yes I agree, The lack of presence in the box when Lukaku moves to the half spaces is definitely an issue and something Griezmann would solve. But I also feel that Lukaku should be in the box on the end of chances not on the wings. This ploy cannot be our go-to tactic in games.
With regard to Griezmann, yes he has 10 assists but if you compare his stats to Ribery, Douglas Costa, Neymar and Sane, its quite telling. The aforementioned players create nearly double the no. of key passes, no. of chances per 90 and considerably more successful take-ons/dribbles per 90 mins. And just watching Griezmann play shows that he cant bring to the table what the aforementioned players can. If we didnt already have Sanchez, I would be happy to have Griezmann here since hes a better player and more suited to the role of a second striker to play off Lukaku. But I cannot fathom that our scouting department cannot zero on some targets that can fulfill the role that we really need on the RW instead of buying another marquee player who will seemingly not solve our RW problem.
Anyway, all one can do is hope is that im completely wrong about this and if Griezmann joins us, he fits in supremely well. Im hesitantly boarding the muppet-coaster with you.
