I can see Salah going next summer. Either to PSG as a replacement for Neymar or to Madrid as a back-up plan for Neymar or Barca as a statement to keep the pace. That or he's a bit of a one season wonder.

Yeah, a front three of Griezmann, Sanchez and Lukaku doesn't have anyone that can reliably beat players individually. They'd both opt to drift inside and make us quite narrow, which wouldn't be ideal.

It would make us quite narrow but with actual fullbacks that can both defend and get down the line properly, it would be mitigated somewhat.

I don't think it can be understated just how much our current options hamper us in different ways.

Not that I think he'll come anyway unless it really was a cert last year before Athleti got a ban.
 
Can’t see it. Nothing from Spain, Castles etc or Di Marzio. Maybe it’ll break like Lukaku did but very doubtful.

Fair point on feeling the need for a pure winger who'll run past players but I feel with that potential front three and more space for Pogba we'd have a different threat especially if our full-backs are improved next season. Griezmann is also good at beating his man even if he's not a pure dribbler in the mold of say a Figo. A good thing is with Griezmann is that you'll always feel we've got a goal in us not just because of him but because the other lads would have more space and time to themselves.

I'd be happy with Griezmann, Bale or Willian to be honest. I think he (Grizz) is the best of the three (probably top 5 in the world last 2-3 seasons), he's the youngest and has the best record with injuries. I trust Jose to get the right man and make it work best for the team.

Yeah I agree. Not many players are great dribblers now with consistency though - off the top of my head I can only think of Hazard or Messi that I will spend good money on as consistent dribblers who can beat a man... most of the dribblers I see are too inconsistent and I think will lose the ball too often for jose's liking. You can run as fast as you like, but the ball always moves faster, and opponents who are intelligent will always be that one step ahead of you. Griezmann is not the fastest player around, but he has good acceleration and his ability to sniff out space is great. He started off playing as a winger too right? Having more intelligent attackers means opposing defenders cannot just focus on 1 or 2 of our players. This will also give Lukaku and Sanchez more space to work with, not to mention more options for our CMs to pass the ball too. Anyway all conjecture, even now, since the Kohler deal is not officially confirmed as of yet.
 
Could this be the old switcheroo again? Declare intrest in another player (Bale, Morata) to create a distraction only to swoop in for our real target (Griezmann, Lukaku).

The theory is that the United officials put this Griezmann deal on the negotiations table: "Okay we are going to get Griezmann, a high profile player, to raise our profile and number of fans around the globe. Deal is already confirmed. Hence we will expect to receive more sponsorship monies due to this increased popularity and coverage that we will enjoy."

Reddit OP is part of this deal somehow, and thus leaks this info to us.
 
The Kohler guy seems to be wrong already as he claimed the sleeve sponsorship - which he was obviously aware of - was worth £20m.

As I understand it, he wasn't involved in the deal itself he just had a conversation with a high ranking Kohler representative who was familiar with it. He also admitted the transfer the guy was talking about could be Fred but he was 80% sure it was Griezmann.

Well the Goal article is just speculating the amount as of now. Kohler guy could also change his tune and say 10m each for 2 years, so 20m in total.

Since Antoine Griezmann posted himself as a Harlem Globetrotter and ushered in a new age of acceptance and understanding in the world. People understood that he was just using it as a costume prop, and not to offend people. So they used their common sense to understand the meaning behind his actions, and so there was no shitstorm. Top guy.

Think he would perform very poorly in the PL, he has a shit celebration and I havent forgiven him for scoring against Ireland...but I have 50 quid on him to sign for us so cmon you cnut.

He did say it was per year as someone quoted Chelsea’s £10m p/a deal.

It doesn’t matter anyway as these things are not connected.

Thanks I get that but it seems quite amateurish that we have to drop big name players that may or may not arrive.

I sense the story is made up, I reckon had some knowledge of the Kohler sleeve deal and then added the Griezman transfer to spice it up.

If this is indeed a marketing strategy, I'm not sure what to feel about it.
On one hand, I will be pissed but in the other hand I'll be very impressed because that's some PR stunt.
I knew what Kohler was, but after that subreddit, I found out that they were much more than just a bathroom accessories manufacturer and had even some real estate and engine development branches.
Isn't that what advertisement is about?Spreading the word? And they have used this sleeve sponsorship very well.

Yeah he was a winger at Sociedad and converted into a second striker by Simeone. He can whip a good cross in too.

I really don't think our line-up would so much be lacking if we signed him. We'd have excellent movement, intelligence, movement and goals in our front three and if Fred hits the ground running and Pogba gets more space (with the help of a good left-back) we'd be able to get the ball to them enough. We'd have enough to control and steamroll most teams and the style to be able to make it difficult and counter attack with effectiveness on the elite teams.

Good point, and the guy on Reddit seems to possibly be part of the Kohler contract team, so it might be his actual job to do stuff like this.
 
The guy would be a monumental cnut to use the Kholer deal as a cover to chat shit. If that's the case, hope he's run out of town.
