Not invested in him since he changed his mind last minute after that 6/10 bollocks.

Also, Kohler deal has nothing to do with Griezmann since it's a sleeve sponsor and Kohler aren't in the football industry like Adidas or Nike to have that sort of information.

Sanchez - Lukaku - Griezmann
Pogba - Fred
Matic
Sign someone please - Preferably another one - Bailly - Dalot
De Gea
No British player at all? Not that it matters much but maybe we will need to keep Jones...

But is one obligated to know the history of blackface? Or look up the complete history of any costume idea one ever had?
So if painting your face black for a costume is OK without the Black Face context, then one is simply hating on A.G. cause his GK about the issue was poor. Am I missing something here?
If you want to complain about the reaction, yes you should know the history of blackface.

Not saying I still believe it but it is not them offering the info. The person who said it said he knew someone at the club or something - they are two separate things

Not outside the realms of possibility for our commercial team to have over-promised (re big name signing) during negotiations in order to secure the best possible sponsorship deal (the goal.com article states that we were looking for a deal closer to £15-20m pa, but ended up with £10m).

In other words, even if this reddit person is telling the truth (pretty big 'if'), that does not mean Griezmann is actually on his way. Indeed reports suggest he is staying at Atletico and will shortly sign a bumper new deal.

I would be very happy with this.

Bench can be Mitchell/Young, Jones, Smalling, Rashford and Lingard.
No English players who are buyable are good enough. :D

It's all a bit wishy washy. The person on reddit said that the Kohler deal should have been announced a few days ago, then when it didn't he said there must have been some delays. Obviously this ITK is not that high up to know the ins and outs.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was just some Gossip that was spread around where he works.

What you say is actually pretty plausible. After all, it's a negotiation, United over promised about Griezmann, but Kohler was not sure about it and therefore, they lower the overall price? That's very possible. Hopefully, it's not correlated!

It's really not. Sponsorships aren't measured in signings. Greizmann or any signing really wouldn't affect the negotiations to that degree.

What do you mean they aren't in the football industry? They just signed a deal with United - isn't that the whole point? It was mentioned during the deal discussions or something?

This makes zero sense if we're truthfully after Bale. We're not getting both. If we had this apparently lined up for ages, why would we be after Bale?
We're not getting either.

[Duncan Castles in his podcast on Bale] “United are definitely interested. If Madrid say yes, which they’re likely to, and Bale says yes to it, that will necessitate a redrawing of United’s transfer plans. They didn’t go into the summer expecting to sign an attacking player of his status.”

Saw this on Reddit. If he did say that, it must mean there was/is no agreement with Griezmann.
Either that or lots of people are trying to keep this a secret, including Duncan Castles.

Bs or not but Betway gave odd 7.00 for Griezmann to United. Not likely to happen but worth a try i think. For sure United odds will drop a lot after this. So if anybody want to take a risk, have to do it now. ;)

Oh god... why couldn't this Kohler deal just fall through. I can't deal with this.

Kohler are in the industry after this sleeve deal. Nike and Adidas sponsor athletes and are heavily entrenched in the industry. Pogba did work with Adidas prior to his transfer from Juventus and even referenced transfer rumours.

It's expected for Adidas and Nike to know about incoming transfers because they often sponsor the incoming players. Kohler does not have those links in the industry.

I'm convinced there is something in this, naming an obscure company(in uk) and getting it right is solid information. Just stuck 20 euro on it on my PP account at 9/2. 6/1 on WH if you have an account.
Mate he obviously works with kohler, other than that he's only told us that we were interested in Greizmann last summer, no new info whatsoever and the rumours of a buyout clause were around last summer.

He knew about a sleeve sponsorship deal 6 days ago, so what?

Yeah okay but isn't whole story here, Kohler were in negotiations with United and the Griezmann transfer was mentioned?

Why do they need further links in the industry to make the story plausible? It seems plausible enough to me, albeit still highly likely to be bullshit!

That's a contradiction to me. How can something be highly likely to be BS but still plausible enough?

I would consider it much more plausible that this is publicity stunt by Kohler or an employee of Kohler wanting to get some attention.

Agreed.

He knew about it 23 days ago, when he originally posted about the Kohler deal.

And he's said a lot more about the Griezmann deal than just that one post everyone is sharing.

I haven't been following any of this so forgive my ignorance here but why would this Kohler company know about any Griezman deal? are they one of his sponsors as well or something?

It is plausible that they'd be privy to that kind of information, given we now know they recently did a sponsorship deal with United. That is the aspect of this story we were discussing.

Whether or not some random from the internet is privy to that information is the part I would consider highly likely to be bullshit.

I wasn't agreeing with the date. I was agreeing with him that him having a connection with Kohler doesn't mean he'd be privy to any information regarding possible transfers.

When is Grizi announcing his future?

He did say before the World Cup. If this is true, I can see us announcing Kohler as our new sleeve sponsor, followed by the new home jersey, followed by Griezmann wearing it to send everyone going crazy.

Strange that it's reported to be only 10m a year when that reddit guy said it was 23-27m a year.

I've a good felling about it given the information, 9/2 seems a decent price.

Even if it was plausible, would they let everyone and anyone know about it? The ITK is obviously not clued up since he got the date wrong on the announcement. Bear in mind that we haven't even announced the deal, whereas the ITK said it should have been announced already then changed it into sometime soon.

I think theres a bit of peacocking going on but that poster called this deal long before the Griezmann post.
Maybe they wanted to wait until these two signings were announces to piggyback the publicity?
Who knows.

What do you mean by that? He posted about Griezmann before either deal was announced. Only reason it's come up today is there are news outlets saying we're signing Kohler as sleeve sponsor.

Reports of Barca interest in Salah.

Obviously a shill after the Ramos saga, but imagine if Barca sign Salah from Liverpool thus summer or the next leaving us free to poach Griezmann. Two birds, one stone.

Genuine question - why do you think he's a perfect fit? My opinion is that he's technically superb, and gets lots of goals but I think we need a player on the RW who can dribble and go past players with skill and pace rather than with passing and movement.
In terms of his personality and mentality. He's an entertainer and a match winner. In terms of style I also think he's an excellent fit as he is a versatile player. He's very adaptable and intelligent. He's great at finding space, creating space for others and an excellent finisher. If you watch a lot of Atletico's breaks it's often with him cutting in off the right hand side but like I said he's adapt at running into empty space.

Fair point on feeling the need for a pure winger who'll run past players but I feel with that potential front three and more space for Pogba we'd have a different threat especially if our full-backs are improved next season. Griezmann is also good at beating his man even if he's not a pure dribbler in the mold of say a Figo. A good thing is with Griezmann is that you'll always feel we've got a goal in us not just because of him but because the other lads would have more space and time to themselves.

I'd be happy with Griezmann, Bale or Willian to be honest. I think he (Grizz) is the best of the three (probably top 5 in the world last 2-3 seasons), he's the youngest and has the best record with injuries. I trust Jose to get the right man and make it work best for the team.

I read on that sub that someone thought he was basing this claim on a sponsorship rumour from earlier and bluffed it but it turned out it was this same poster who brought them up in the first place.
He doesn't seem to be a bluffer who read a rumour about sleeve sponsorship and went with it.

Edit maybe they wanted Utd to announce new signings to piggyback the good news stories from Old Trafford is what I meant.
Hell, why not in conjunction with Antoine signing..
