We will definetly sign someone. Noone knows who this someone is, i am pretty sure it is not Mane because even Koeman said it is only a rumors, probably to distract the media from our real targets. This guy is just one of the possibilities and we are just camping here till real target is known.
I would say I'm closer to a muppet than to a pessimist but I'm starting to doubt we'll sign anyone else (bar a replacement if Dave goes). Maybe we'll put the war chest to one side and hope for Bale to be pushed further out by next summer or someone to properly announce themselves this season. You confident we'll bring in another attacker?

Yeah look at last year. It was the same, no real targets but we ended with Di Maria and Falcao. LVG said we need player with pace in attack and i think we will bring someone in. We only spend 8m pounds net this transfer window and have money to buy someone.

But if i turn my muppet off i think even if we don't sign noone we are good to challenge in all competition. We will have to give Januzaj opportunity sooner rather then later, same with Wilson and we have a great prospect in Pereira. I always prefered that we give opportunity to our youngsters but still as i said LVG know he has only 2-3 seasons to win a trophy at United and he will make sure he will win it as soon as possible and that means we will buy someone who will make our attack better.

My basic perspective is I am happy with the squad, and I only want to sign players that are clear improvements on what we have. Griezmann at #10 is certainly an upgrade on Januzaj at this moment of time. If we're mulling over a bid for Mane, mainly cos he's pacey, we'd be fools not to go for Griezmann if we can.

Yeh I'm a bit more relaxed if we do give oppurtunities to Adnan and Andreas in #10, was a bit worried we'd pursue Memphis in the hole with Young a permanent fixture wide left, luckily that should be off the table after Tuesday night.

With Di Maria though I think it was sort of predictable with Madrid forcing him out, I don't see a similar situation happening with any of the top players around right now. Perhaps like you say we'll see another Falcao, someone who just comes out of nowhere.

Wouldn't mind Mane for what it's worth, just don't think Southampton will sell unless we offer silly money.

If we bought Griezmann I dont see us playing him in the 10, chances are he'd be shifted on the right or even up front.

People forget that Young started only one match out of three for us this season. I have a feeling that Januzaj will get a lot of opportunities this season.

At this stage last season there were only talks about Di Maria going to PSG and only small amout of papers said he will go to us. This year the most possible target for me is Kane, but you never know what will happen, maybe we will really buy someone like Bale and Muller or someone out of nothing like this guy (Griezmann).

Mane is not good enough in my opinion. I didn't participate in yesterdays meltdown because it would be stupid but i don't rate him enough to believe he is upgrade on what we have and we are looking for that.

Muppet juices flowing on this one

100 pages plus I reckon before he signs
We need something to kick-start it. At the moment it's running on next to nothing. Even a goal.com article could help us get it moving.

His brother tweeting helped it quite a bit... But it needs more. All just hopeful speculation for now

Let me give a quick resume of what has happened here:

1. Antoine tweets "ooooh Rooney".
2. Daily Mail said we admire him.
3. Antoine's brother tweets "i'm a united fan".

Basically, feck all has happened. :D

Somone dug a picture of him holding a United shirt in 2001.

I don't know why, but I just have a feeling this will happen and out of nowhere. A bit like the Falcao signing last summer. Feel free to quote me on it either way

Muppet XI 2015/16:

Pedro Zlatan Griezmann
Gündogan Pogba
Veratti
Alves Otamendi Ramos Clyne
Lloris

He would make out front line way too short -- Rooney being the tallest.
Doesn't seem to bother Barca does it? Memphis is as tall as Rooney anyway. And our front line is short anyway, Fellaini is the only one who is tall and he's a squad player.

Suits our current system very well - he'd make that second striker position his own.

Is this actually a legitimate chance of happening? This is my muppet dream.:drool::drool:

It's like the Pedro thread blueballed a lot people so they come to Griezmann fantasyland for some release.

Yes, they both are...but his brother posts more about it..

Griezmann has always been a fan though, what has changed is that he has become a very good footballer too

Who signed a new contract with Atletico this week.

I didn't want a resident Munich fan reply with an essay outlining how Muller would never join United.

You may want to put Fabinho instead of Clyne though. Clyne is Mane type, not a potential muppet signing. Neither is Fabinho but on balance of things, he is more muppety.
