Release clause. They don't have a say if we activate itI hardly doubt they'll sell him when they can't use that money to replace him.

I think maybe some of the higher profile players were waiting to see if we would make CL. Not saying we are signing him. But this could be why we have left it lateOgden from the Telegraph seems to think we will make a bid for him tomorrow.
My question is why would we have left it for tomorrow, why not get the deal stated today; unless its deliberate on the clubs side to get maximum kudos from us gullible fans?

They're in Madrid. Woody hates the city. Not that i believe it but it would be a nasty thing to do to Atletico to activate his release clause after their window has closed and they can't sign a replacement.
Luckily for them its most likely bullshit.
IF there is a clause, it is possible. Otherwise, I can't see how Atletico can sell him with no hope of signing replacements.
Trust me, if we activate the clause tomorrow. The Atletico board will be secretly delighted as they won't have to spend the money. They can say to the fans we could not do nothing and window is closed, so we can't sign anybody.
Game over?
That's that then.
Unbelievable to think we are going into the season with what we have upfront.
Coz deadline day and our teams sux.Is there any actual report or are we going muppet just for the heck of it? I'm on board either ways but would like to know why I'm going loco.

Is converting a release clause into an actual transfer really that easy? I remember Bayern had huge difficulties with Martinez, as did we with Herrera, although both did get their man. Arsenal couldn't even sign Suarez.
Also, this isn't Bilbao, this is Atletico. They've got a brilliant manager and a quality team with a lot of talent on the brink of again forming the next core of another quality team. Why is it made out to be this obvious signing that were seemingly blind to?

Good enough for me.Coz deadline day and our teams sux.
Griezmann just retweeted this (Sorry I don't know how to embed Twitter links)
"pour eviter les rumeurs inutiles ceci n'est pas un tweet pour annoncer un eventuel transfert... RDV demain"
which according to google translate means...
"to avoid unnecessary rumors this is not a tweet announcing a possible transfer appointment tomorrow ..."
Game over?
