Antoine Griezmann

Himself and Pogba will end up at PSG once the WC is over

Doubt it. PSG can hardly afford signing Luiz without selling anyone due to FFP-regulations. They won't be able to sign another high-caliber player without getting rid of one of their own (Verratti keeps getting mentioned in that regard for example).

Bilbao might want to interfer though, having limited options and alot of cash, Griezmann fits perfectly. Not saying that Griezmann would chose Bilbao over us, but he won't be on the market for long so if we're going for him, we should do it this transfer window.

Like Hazard, the time to sign Griezmann was 3 years ago before people started to take notice.

Love him love him love him. I've seen him play and he is magnificent. His runs are intelligent and quick, his touch is good, his technique is good. He still has to improve, but he will be one of the top players in football. Most of all, I love his attitude. He spent most of his footballing years learning his trade in Spain and has a lot of that flair to his game, but also puts in very hard work in training. He is a model professional.

Griezmann is not of basque ancestry, lol. He can't play for Bilbao.

Would be perfect in a 4-3-3 since he's more of a wide striker than a winger. He's the type of player that gives you 15 goals a season from out wide, something we really lack.

You're sure? I was pretty sure on that, might have mixed him up though.

Edit: After reading a bit, you're right. He is not of basque ancestry. It is rumored that he could be eligible to play for Bilbao due to being in the country since he was 14 years old and 'extended bloodlines', yet this would cause trouble especially with those who think the basque-only-policy should be applied more strict. So in that case, my point doesn't stand. While there is a theoretical case, practically there is none and therefor Bilbao wouldn't bid on Griezmann.

Yes because that situation is exactly the same, it's almost 100% identical in fact.

I have no doubt that the situations are different. But if you can be in for all the top talents three years before anyone else is taking notice, you'll have a huge advantage.

I agree absolutely.

It doesn't work every time, we've bought a couple of duds and squandered some talent over the years through one reason or another, just the same as we've caught a couple early and got them at a decent price.

Yes he can because he was trained in Basque since he was 14. He also said a couple of years ago that Bilbao were trying to sign him.
It's pretty well known that by Bilbao's modernised rules, he could play for them. They actually tried to sign him in 2012. 'Lol'.
Ah well, Bilbao might just do it to piss Real Sociedad off. Though I doubt that's where Antoine wants to end up.

He's quality, he's going to go to a big side, for a reasonable fee and we'll kick ourselves for not going after him. I really hope we go for one of him/sanchez/shaqiri

I love him. He's definitely one I'd love to see in a United shirt.

How much would you lads reckon we can land him for? Are we even remotely linked to him?

I'd guess £25m is what Sociedad would want as a minimum. We have been linked with him yeah, although the media have said no English club has yet made an offer for him.

He has a 30m€ clause.

So I wasn't far off then. €30m is around £23.5m I think so yeah not far off.

You were very close.

Though i say 30m but he was supposed to sign a new contract (it was a rumour), and i don't know if he has.

I have never seen him play there, he seems the anti Valancia in that he's very left footed so maybe not.
Well that sucks I heard his very good on the ball so I was thinking he could be a similar style in Robben. I'd prefer we sign someone who's naturally a right sided player.

He may be able to play right sided, I'm just unsure if he can?

Any avid Sociedad followers shed any light?

Thought his movement was fantastic when he came on today. Changed the game

Poor Griezmann. :(

Looked shit today, second match I've watched him this WC and his first touch seems to be pretty woeful.
