But that is the likely outcome. Griezmann has a very goo relationship with Simeone, club and fans, so he would likely decide to stay till they can sign new players.

That is in no way the likely outcome. And I'm not even talking from the perspective of him definitely going to United. If they get a serious transfer ban that will make them a club less likely to compete and this was his issue from the start, that he's not winning enough trophies. If he wants out I am sure City, Chelsea, PSG, Bayern as well as United would all be options for him but I don't see him staying in Madrid.

The ban is for only 12 months (they were only appealing to reduce it to 6 months so they can sign players this summer) and they can start signing from January, so its not a stretch f he decides to stay with Atletico for one more season.

Before that, he says he has no idea if he'll still be at Atletico or at United, but it does sound like it's the only 2 options.

That seems weird given how openly Griezmann talked of joining us. If our interest wasn't very solid, he surely wouldn't do so. Unless we have long given up on Mbappe.

I think the way it's worded seems odd though. Mbappe isn't leaving Monaco and Morata seems to be going to Milan, maybe that means Griezmann is coming then.

So according to Di Marzio, Atletico are looking at Costa, Lacazetti, Belotti as potential replacements for Griezmann and also Griezmann is third on the list after Morata and Mbappe. Not sure if that makes sense as Griezmann is not a #9 like Morata and Mbappe.
He seems to have burnt some bridges which doesn't really make sense if he's just going to stay. The TV interview, the book interview and the alleged transfer request. Doesn't strike me as someone that would stay out of the goodness of his heart
People lose their shit over everything, if anybody had actually watched his interviews his problem is that Atletico aren't winning trophies. His only trophy during his 3 years at Atletico have been Spanish Super Cup and that was when he joined them in 2014. With Real and Barcelona in the same league, chances of domestic honors are extremely slim. They make deep runs in the CL but fall short in the end. That is not going to change unless they add more quality to the squad, a transfer ban being upheld if anything will convince his decision to leave them is right.

Only thing i can think of is that Moratta or Mbappe will play in one type of formation, if its Griezmann then we play a different way.
