That was brilliant, how have Telefoot managed to keep that part of the interview under wraps for 4 days? Impressive.

We probably started laying the groundwork for the transfer a long time before anyone else, his mind could have been made up before another team came in with an offer.

Rashford. Griezmann is more of a 10/2nd striker much like Rooney used to be.
We could be preferred destination. Besides there's no need for him at Chelsea, City, Barca or Real. We're the only club with big ambitions and resources who desperately a talisman in attack.

I do think we will still need to improve our attack in other areas if we get Griezemann. He's more like an Ibra replacement for me and even with the big our attack we needed more.
Still, Grizemann is stunningly efficient in the final third.
Who could affort his fee and wages? United, City, PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona. He'll never go to Real. There isn't any space for him in the Barcelona XI / they need to strengthen in other areas. That leaves us, City and PSG. I feel like he'd rather stay at Atletico than go to City or PSG. I think he's coming to us because he is a Man United fan and he likes the way the club is heading. His brother is a big MU fan and he has stated that he wears the #7 and long sleeves because of Beckham who is his boyhood idol, it's quite obvious that he is a United fan
Also we've got Pogba who is his mate and Evra has definitely spoken highly of the club.

Bayern won't spend that kind of money. Real can't accommodate a player like him. Juventus and Barca don't need him. PSG are in a rubbish league. City and Chelsea don't need him, Arsenal and Spurs can't/won't afford him.

and then we are back to square one, cos rashford is not good enough to be the main striker and Griezmann plays better with battering ram type of #9 which is why Atletico got Gameiro and want Costa back.
The only way Rashford get consistent minutes with Griezmann arriving is as a LWF in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 and Griezmann as the RWF

Griezmanns mind was probably made up the day he saw Lingard doing his flute playing, irish dance celebration. He must have thought "now there's a club I can showcase my celebrations at".
This was a done deal the second we won in Stockholm. Griezmann confirmed his inclinations ages ago. You don't do that unless you're already on the brink of signing. I don't get why people think this was ever 'off'.

Griezmann has been representing himself since September of last year, so all offers go straight to him which makes things easier. Reports came out in January that Griezmann already had a deal on the table from us.
He's joining us no doubt.

I think this is as nailed on as a big money, superstar signing can get really. He'd be brilliant for us so I'm all for it. We still need more in attack though.
Rooney is definitely gone IMO, zlatan might not be fit until January, we can't wait to see if he can recover properly.
