hmmmm. in that period they won the title twice, finished 2nd every other time and made CL semis 3 times. we are at the stage where we can barely finish in a champions league place through our own domestic league. i.e. we typically finish 5th or lower. Our average position is 5th actually. We are nowhere near a team that is competitive in the CL and are literally scraping through Europe's lower tier competition. That isn't all down to finishing. On the point of finishing, if all good teams took all their chances, they would all have 100+ points. Its part of the game. Clearly its more than finishing. Spurs have created more opportunities than us and Chelsea so perhaps they would be league champions if their finishing was better as they already many points ahead? same for City who from my recollection were woeful finishing at home. So many poor home results. I think most of the top teams are let down by their finishing to be honest, it isn't solely a United issue to fix.
Who is Tom Coast? Not many clubs can afford him and he seems to distance himself already from the club so I would imagine we have good chance of getting him. Anything can happen though, it's football.
If he is not welcome then surely he is coming whatever the outcome tomorrow and with their transfer ban.
£230k a week, can Atleti compete?http://www.marca.com/en/football/spanish-football/2017/05/23/5924934ee5fdea742b8b45c1.html
Red Devils have announced they are willing to offer the Atleti star 14 million euros a year
I think it's refreshing for a player to talk openly and honestly about a transfer. It's more respectful to be honest than to bullshit the fans with shit like "God only knows"

Yeah, nothing wrong with what he said as he's being honest and there's really no way to say that in a 'nicely' manner. No matter how you put it you're going to get backlash for it so he must be really determined to sign for a club that offers more opportunities to win something... which also makes you wonder if United currently is the best side for him short term.
If United doesn't win for Ajax he surely is going somewhere else and quite frankly I think he's a super good player and would love if Real Madrid sign him up, it's not only that I rate him highly but it would drive mad all of Atlético fans.
No. It will kill their wage structure. Honestly it's a good deal for them (assuming they get the ban overturned) because with the 85m they could potentially get say, Lacazette (looks like a done deal) and Alexis, for example. Griezmann has carried the burden as the only consistent goalscorer post-Costa which is amazing as they have nearly won CL and league last year and been very competitive in the other years.£230k a week, can Atleti compete?

Yeah, he kind of gave up his negotiating power with that maneuvre ...
This. There's no way this hasn't already been seriously discussed until now. I'm pretty sure the wage was agreed or understood months back, jersey number, signing on fee etc; probably just some minor details being ironed out and probably as minor as - how he's unveiled, things of that nature. He probably has our contract with the offer in front of him all ready to be signed.
Never heard of him, I take it he is a nobody?I ask myself this every summer....

This is what I think. Sort of makes it strange though that he's been so candid in the media, sort of left himself without options. He said there's 0 chance he'll join Real Madrid. Think he'll join us regardless of the result tbf, doesn't seem like there's a future for him at Atleti anymore.
Pretty much. Anyone affiliated with Sport Witness isn't worth posting here. We will make some new transfer tweet guidelines shortly.
Is what they're doing that bad though? From what I've gathered all they really do is research and explain what's going on? Haven't really seen them post their own stuff.

I just realized....He has never actually won anything. Rashford in his 18 month career has more medals than him! No wonder he wants to leave.
I quite like SW, think they do a useful job. Feels a bit harsh
I'm super happy he is coming but it's a bit sad to come out and say stuff like this when you're contracted to a club.
If this were a United player I'd be pissed. Like if De Gea says this, I'll personally be disappointed even though I know he probably will move
The more we post credible journalists, of which Di Marzio is at the top of the heap, the better. These muppet show punters like Coast are at the bottom of the list.
Honestly I think I would prefer this kind of open honesty. Think back to Ronaldo and "God only knows". I hate those kind of vague messages. If you're trying to leave then man up and say it. Fans understand this is how football works, players move between clubs. The vague messages saying you don't know where your future lies are just as annoying to me.
The funny thing for me is that he hasn't just turned the Atletico fans against him but all the neutrals too, loads of people on /r/soccer now dislike him after rimming him since forever. Same thing happened to Pogba, was widely beloved but when he joined us people were ready to burn him at the stake. I guess that's what happens when you leave the hipster darlings for the evil empire that we're perceived to be.
The thing with me is I only think about the pitch. I want to do great, I want to be one of the best, I want to win titles, I want to achieve things and that’s all; that’s why I came here, just to do this, to become one of the best and to win titles because I know this club has to win titles.
That's always going to be the case rival fans dreamed of Pogba and loved him and thought they'd make him the best in the World soon as he signs he wasn't that good, he's a money grabber, look at the fee etc; it is what it is and I'm fine with it.The funny thing for me is that he hasn't just turned the Atletico fans against him but all the neutrals too, loads of people on /r/soccer now dislike him after rimming him since forever. This is a very wild guess but some people are speculating he might be doing all of this because Atlético didn't let him go to Real Madrid and that's why he's taking the piss at them now. I don't really believe this but to me it is strange he behaves like this now, he has always being a good guy.
