Anthony Martial

What do think of the (supposedly) imminent signing of Anthony Martial?

If he is the next Henry, I hope he's not such a massive cnut.
I hope he is, that's the most fun part. 80% of the enjoyment we got from Ronaldo was how much of an insufferable prick he is, makes watching him bring tears or rage to opposition supporters all the sweeter.

So now it seems as if this is actually happening, how will he fit into the starting XI? Could he play on the right wing or behind Rooney?

Real talk - those of you who've watched him for Monaco, does he tend to play in the no.9 role or more out wide?

Decent signing but will obviously take 2 or 3 years to really get going. Id be delighted if he could come in and bag 10 in all comps that would be decent for a 19 year old lad with potential, good age to get him too let him bed in properly and get used to the league.

I hope you all realise that it's 50 million euros. Some daft replies in here.

1st choice - world class now (Neymar, Lewandowski, etc)
2nd choice - potential to become World Class (Martial, etc)
3rd choice - World class but tailing off a bit (Ibra, Schweiny)
4th choice - good now but will never become world class (Charlie Austin)

Surely for the same money we could've got Lacazette?

I've no idea who this lad is, but at 19 no matter how much potential he has I can't see him being the answer to the current season problems. Is he any good?

LVG last year said that a transfer happening in 24 hours is no problem. Proving that point here.

So if it's 49.9m they are still sane yes?

Also are we talking euros or pounds?
Euros.

For 55m pounds or so we could have got De Bruyne/Griezmann or someone of that ink. Even 50m euros is too high considering that Dybala and Vietto combined cost less and both are at the moment better than him.

I'm not going to claim to have watched him/them more than twice (if that), but I'm pretty sure he played wide left when I did catch them.

I think there are cnuts and cnuts. Cantona was the charismatic type, you can't help but admire him as he just had so much elegance and swagger. Ronaldo on the other hand never seemed anything more than childish and whiny. No idea how this kid is, just saying that not all kinds of cnuts are necessarily lovable :D

I am not impressed that much for that brutal sum of money, he is more raw than Depay and we need someone more ready for first team football. Looks a bit like young Welbz.. We need striker to replace Rooney..

One for the future okay but the money is crazy for someone that raw

Dont think Lacazette would have come here for 36m pounds. Before his contract extension maybe.

So passing on Pedro and now splashing close to 50m EUR for unproven kid? Gotta say I'm impressed with some of our dealings this Summer.

he doesn't - he isn't getting anywhere near the starting line up for 2 or 3 years.

So reports of Woody being in France (Paris) last week, may not have been off the mark then.

It's 50m euros, not pounds. Still huge but none of the mentioned players would be available for that.

I normally don't give a shit how much the club spends on a player, but 80M€ for this guy has to be one of the most ridiculous transfer ever made...

Maybe we didn't want any of those players or they didn't want to come to United.

It isn't that simple.
