What do think of the (supposedly) imminent signing of Anthony Martial?

What a load of crap. Forget this kid. No way can we loan them Rojo - that's madness. And 60 million euros??? It's Monaco where Mendes has a say in things there. Of course he's trying to rinse us - again! Even if the kid turned out to be good, couple years from now he'll be pushing him to Madrid. United are really making a mess now if they agree to this shit.

The numbers and loan ideas are ridiculous. If this is happening then there's no way the cost will be like 40 million pounds. 30 at most surely. 30-40 million euros or pounds seems to be the going rate for nailed on worldclass talents these days

How will Mendes push Martial to Madrid 2 years from now? Mendes is not his agent is he? Even if we agree that Mendes has a big say at Monaco, that won't mean a thing if Martial is United player in 2 years.

while we are in france, why not bid another 60 million euros for fekir and get done with it

Not sure if serious?

I am on the first part. The upside is minimal here. He would cost loads, with next to no sell on value and is really not that good. Also he will demand a salary in the Rooney/RvP range. If you think spending £35m on an unproven winger/forward is madness then paying £40m+ on Cavani would all but confirm that Woodward/LvG has gone completely bonkers.

I'm not that bothered if Rojo goes on loan. Never really sure what he offers or why we signed him

We are becoming a joke of a club and it's sad and pathetic to see United fall to so low. It's understandable if some saga starts from summer and carries on till the last day of the window. But random new names you have never heard of just shows that the club haven't done their homework and are in a panic mode. Neville put it across perfectly, that teams who are doing business today are not really well run.

Why not get Cavani or Higuaín for that sort of money? Or buy Greizeman for a few euro more. Don't know enough about the guy to make an informed decision so would like a more recognised striker in the squad, of course in could turn out to be a stroke of genius.

Our recruitment policy seems to be more about economic sense and re sale value rather than footballing sense. Why did we not close the Pedro deal? Why are we planning to spend 60 mil on an unproven player (allegedly)? I said this a year ago, there's something v wrong with united. Maybe we need a DOF. Spending 60m on an unproven 19yr old forward on the last day of the window stinks of panic. There's mismanagement going on at united and it would be unacceptable at any big club.

As much as i understand we did offer 50m euros for him before and we are coming back with second offer. We are probably negotating with Martial and Monaco for some time now, similar how City did with De Bruyne, but we don't give anything to press so they found it out so late.

Price quoted is insane. No chance of this being anything but taking advantage of desperation. I don't really care about the money as long as we can afford it, but its fair to ask some questions.

Martial's a talent but Monaco are taking the piss. He'd need several seasons to reach eventually a world class level, and that's far from guaranteed.

Surely this deal must have already been agreed more or less? I don't see how we would sell Hernandez otherwise. Also, wouldn't rule out that we have been interested in him for a longer period, I doubt that we decide to look into a player on the last week of the transfer window.

Cavani is a top striker. He is the only player in European top leagues - other than Messi and Ronaldo - who has scored 25 or more goals in the last 5 seasons.

You don't get that record by not being very good.

The other points are valid though, and PSG would not sell him now that FFP are binned.

Agreed. But that won't register with the hysterical types on here who, because they haven't heard of him and because we've reached this point without the news being leaked, think that it must be a panic buy instigated in just the last day or two.

If he's one of the brightest talents around I hope we get him.

Or maybe just maybe we've done our homework already and didn't just pull out of the hat out of a sudden. But that wouldn't go well with 'joke of a club' brigade.
