Anthony Martial to Spurs | Bouhafsi : "Bid rejected"

Any price that anyone would genuinely start thinking about it?

Spurs bids are mostly derisory. Would be interesting to see what they offered for Martial

Reminds me of this episode:

"Those bids were rejected out of hand as derisory and insulting," said director of communications Alan Myers.

The offers came late last week and Myers added: "The club did not make public these details as it was vital Roberto Martinez's preparations for the opening game of the Premier League season were not disrupted in any way."

He would probably have to take a pay cut.
I don't believe it myself, they would have to smash their transfer record to get him plus raise their wage cap.
Doesn't he have a kid to support? He can't be leaving to a club paying championship wages..

Spurs aren't paying peanuts and pennies. If reports are to be believed and Martial is on £70k p/w while Kane, Lloris and Vertonghen are all on £100k+ p/w then they could give him a small raise. Not that this transfer is going to happen anyway.

If Mourinho dont think hes good enough to be a regular starter, (which he obviously doesnt think) why shouldnt he sell him?

 Clowns.

Not that we would sell him, especially to Spurs, but two things;

Firstly, we paid £56m for him - so what did tight, penny pinching, little Spurs offer?

Also what wages would they pay? Can imagine them trying to opening negotiations at 30k per week.

You just know it is some silly bid like £30m as well.

We should return the favour by calling Alli and Rose and whisper sweet words of 250k\week and 150k\week in their ears.
Current market price seams he is worth around £70m (using Moratta and Lukaku as guide). But then again, Dembele, Mbappe and Coutinho madness suggests it could be a lot more

Surely £50m+ and we'd consider and let Jose actually pick his man

He'd probably replace Son.

Kane
Martial Alli Eriksen

He might compete with Son for a starting slot, but the latter scored 21 goals and made several assists for Spurs last season ... so he wouldn't exactly be easily displaced.

You've got to be kidding. We signed him for a deal potentially worth more than that, and can't even get Perisic for that fee!

Selling him now, would lead to us always having to field Rashford out wide, or Lingard, rather than the higher ceiling Martial's quality.

Only possible way it would be worthwhile is if it opened up Rose, but we'd need a lot of money on top to seal it.
And that's before you look at how dangerous boosting Spurs with him could be.

It's a sellers market. We might be able to sell him for twice what we bought him for, but equivalents will be very expensive. Better off keeping our good players and players with potential.

The short-term memory on some people is remarkable. A difficult second season after a sensational first, and people are talking about wanting to sell the kid.

It'd be fairly foolish of us to send Martial your way, as if he got to top form he'd be a sensation.
Big if of course! But generally you don't send potentially excellent players to teams who have finished above you recently...unless you're Arsenal!

Because selling Martial, a young player with a high ceiling that the club has made big investment in to a top 4/title rival in is a sackable offence and would seriously make me question whether Mourinho is the guy to take us forward.

Imagine selling our most talented attacking player to a rival when our attack is already in serious need of reinforcements.

Devastated if we make this mistake and sell to Spurs. I know bid rejected but I really hope this isn't the start of a bigger story.

Were we not led to believe that Levy would never business with United again? That lasted long.

Alli + £20m and you've got a deal, Levy, you perfectly round headed horse buggerer.

Not a chance in the pit of hades my friend. Spurs are just getting shirty because all their players want to play for us.

What the hell you guys!! Reading the title I thought he'd gone.
