Nice cameo, pleased he took the penalty.
Lukaku was celebrating Martial's goal even before Martial kicked the ball. He is probably best at taking penalties at ManUtd.
Herrera - 2/2 (100%)
Rashford - 3/3 (100%)
Zlatan - 69/79 (87.3%)
Martial - 6/7 (85.7%)

Mata - 10/14 (71.4%)
Lukaku - 11/16 (68.8%)
Young - 5/8 (62.5%)
Carrick - 0/1 (0%)
Lindelof - 0/1 (0%)
Lingard - 0/1 (0%)
He does have a good record. Rashford and Mkhitaryan haven't taken one in years but theirs are good too. The penalty Martial missed was at Monaco.
UEFA Youth League and Euro U21sThank you, yeah I read for ManUtd it's 6/6 for Martial. When did Rashford score from the spot? Is it for reserves?

If he can just bring that swagger and intensity to starting a game! He's two completely different player coming off the bench as compared to starting a game.
Absolutely an amazing talent!
Records purely for United's first team @roonster09

www.transfermarkt.com has the individual penalty recordsHow do you get all these stats and so quick? Are you a bot like they have in reddit?
The reason being when he comes on the game is open and there is space for him. It was a great run but this doesn't prove he is a better option on the left compared to Rashford, like some in here are claiming.

Ah, this again. I'm sure some think that Rashford and Martial's respective performances on Sunday are further testimony to the theory that Rashford should be playing from the start and Martial coming from the bench.
In fact, if the idea is both are best from the bench, perhaps we should start Lingard every week, and have Rashford and Martial battle for who will come from the bench. That seems to be where the real action is at anyway.
That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm talking about impact when the game is closer and teams are sitting deeper. Rashford's movement is just better. Rashford did not play well against Everton anyway. Martial coming on when the game is open and there is space does not make his movement better that Rashford's. Simple.

Martial has to be good when he starts and not only when he is subbed in.
He needs more starts then. And he's been fine when he starts. I think what people mean is he needs to score from the start, not the bench. He's performed nowhere near as awfully as Rashford did yesterday for a start.
Movement seems to be the only relevant currency on the caf this season all of a sudden. Two forward players aren't simply put together and judged based on movement. What about the other aspects that Martial is 'simply better' in? These are also important attributes for a forward.
The reason he isn't starting is because his movement isn't good enough off the left. Rashford is just simply better in that aspect. You don't need such great off the ball movement to score when the game is open and there is space, it's easier for Martial to score. Even Rashford came on and scored vs Basel. That's not what gets him into the team ahead of Martial though. Even Mourinho spoke about Lukaku's all round play rather than just focusing on his goals. Yeah it's nice Martial scores off the bench when the context of the game has been changed by others. I'm not saying he cant do it. Maybe he is working on his movement. Mourinho obviously prefers Rashford for a reason. He sees them train every day. I acknowledge Rashford had a bad game yesterday as well, that's not the point though.

We do have some decent pen takers it seems. I think I like the way Herrera takes them more than any other player despite being one of the least experienced in games.
He did perform perfectly well against Leicester, won a pen, should have an assist from open play. Basel is the only mediocre game from him this season. He needs to start performing when he starts. It's that simple.

AM and Rashford will be world class if they stay at MU. I just don't see them leaving. I think Rashford has better fitness. Jose knows this so puts in AM at times when he is not trying to tire opposing side.
It's such a weird case this. Martial is better than Rashford up top but neither of them will get to play their much this season or most of the upcoming seasons with Lukaku just having signed.
That means that they will predominantly play from the left for their time with us unless 1 of them makes it obvious they are better through the middle than Lukaku, (would have to be a run there due to injury etc.)
Now for the LW position Martial a is so obviously much more suited it's unreal, he offers a dribbling technique that Rashford won't ever get close to as it's just not his natural game.
The only aspects Martial lacks in is work rate closing down the defenders, (definitely massive signs of improvement this season) and off the ball movement. However, it seems he has been working on this aswell. Against Basel there were so many times he could have been played in running behind the defence when Mhki went the opposite direction or straight into a man. Also, there has been much more of him passing the ball inside and chasing his pass to provide an overload in the middle. (Most of his goals seem to come from this)
Overall I'd say the things Martial lacks that Rashford possesses will be much easier for him to pick up than the other way around.
I think that playing on the left suits Martial pretty well. If he starts on a constant Basis he might become one of the best at this Position.
In case we will Keep playing him only 10 minutes each game he will see the Exit next summer. He has too much Talent to not be a starter for a big Club.
And he Needs to start to get the inconsistency out of his game.
