Tbf he didn't perform as well as Rashford has over his 2 starts and Marcus did have a worldie when he came on.
Not taking his chance doesn't mean he underperformed.
Look at Romero. Played as well as anybody when he played but wasn't quite good enaugh to keep DDG out.

The pitting against each other of Martial and Rashford recently has been so funny to read. Its like some posters can't look at the bigger picture for Manchester United and are solely looking at it in terms of the individual player.
We have two fantastic young players that are 19 and 21 so they far from the finished product. In any 11 we play one of them is guaranteed a start and through the season both will be rotated often. We are developing both at the same time and also challenging their will to compete with the intention of them realising their potential.
Fergie even did this with Ronaldo and Fletcher and the gap between the two was far greater than Martial and Rashford. Wenger also with Adebayor and Van persie.

He's got to start. Don't know how things will work as Rash deserves to start as well.. can only see Miki and Mata covering one role instead of it being either Rash or Martial sharing their roles.

Martial didnt play internationals, Rashford did so why play the player who actually wasnt properly rested, instantly martial made a difference when he came on

Thought it was weird that Martial and Mata didn't start. Out of all our attackers, Jose decides to bench those who didn't go on the international break. Weird.
