I also think he’s a CF and we should build around a two pronged attack with him and Lukaku.

His best position is still as a left forward in a variation of 4-3-3 or 3-5-2. I think we should stick to that as its the best formation for both him and Pogba.
That's the thing with talented players they don't have to be fantastic all the time. Just enough to make a difference. That's why martial has to start upfront. He's far more likely to pull off a moment of magic than lukaku. That's what you need from a united forward.
What we learnt from that game is that when Martial plays in the middle he plays as a false no.9. Still not a striker.

Really wish we gave him the chance to play as a number 9 more often this season, and I'll even dare to say wish we had spent the Lukaku + Lindelof money into a proper RW and some backup number 9 that would be sharing minutes with Rashford.
This. Once Lukaku comes back we are going to start playing Moyes ball again. Long-term we probably made a mistake in signing Ibra too, Martial could have had one more season to improve as a striker. But can't really complain as Ibra did deliver us a couple of tinpots.
This. His natural instinct is to take people on but not run in behind so I can't see him playing as a 9 but as a duo, could be deadly.
He seemingly injured his elbow + no need to risk another injury when Lukaku is out injured.

It is clear as day that he should be ahead of rashford in playing as a striker, his link up play and surprisingly hold up play is better than Rashford and lukaku. I think if given enough chances he can shine in that role.
Low centre of gravity for his height + he is seems THICC.
Think the only thing he misses as a ST is the poacher sense. Otherwise his holdup is brilliant and he links so well with the rest. His movement as a striker is much better than him on the left wing. He just needs to get himself in the position poachers always put themselves in.

I don't find his hold up play surprising at all. Along with Matic and Valencia he's the only one who can consistently hold off pressing players. Pogba can do it as well but sometimes gets a bit cocky and is dispossessed.
Boy's got magic in his boots but needs to be protected during games and not allow the oppo just to swarm him and make him ineffective. Get Shaw up close to him and Pogba in support of him and he'll be dynamite. Our most talented attacking player imo

Mou needs to be open to rotating his preferred players long before their form can bring down team results. Proper competition from Shaw, Martial and Lingard could encourage Young, Lukaku and Mkhi to raise their games. At least that's how Fergie used rotation.

Agree - there is people still here talking about how he should be put back on the left when lukaku comes back - it's utterly confusing & the same people who probably moan at him for having bad performances on the left.
We have 4 strikers & not a single winger in the squad - it should be an idea to hpw this squad & team should be played to.

Took his goal really well, apart from that his hold up play was good too. Hopefully he will get more chances to play as striker

Agree with both, He would be a devastating second striker. The runs dosen't come to him naturally, but with his age, he could sort it out.
Surround him and Pogba with the right players and coach and we will win the league.

This guy just oozes class. Sky is his limit and it is superb to see Jose showing so much trust on him. He should be a starter no matter what unless he is rested or injured.
Don’t think he is a legit lone frontman. I think he is more effective off a striker like Lukaku. So like how we played with 3 at the back against Arsenal.

No, the first touch and finish made that goal. Seriously doubt Lukaku would have been able to handle that pass from Pogba and finish it off as well. There was a lot of work left after that side-pass from Pogba.
