Good to see him have a very good game. Hopefully he can kick on for the season now.
His off the ball running actually looks improved even on last season. Finds himself in the position for first time finishes twice, which wasn't common last season. If he can keep getting in those positions he will get a lot of goals this season.
Great to see him get on the score sheet. He should share more of the goal scoring burden now.

It was great today, but hasnt been this season.
Agreed, his best movement and most desire shown in the shirt this season. Every single player seems to be improving and for me that suggests one thing. They realise Jose isn't messing about, show up, get your place in the team locked down or get rotated out and let someone else have a crack at it. I personally don't think Rashford or Lingard are anywhere near some of our other forwards, but giving them so much time in the team has ensured that other players know when its their chance they better deliver and mkhi has over the last two games, Rooney over the last 3 or 4, martial tonight, ibra over the last 3 or 4, mata is the only one who started as he meant to go on.
Was lively in the first half even if his end product wasn't good so that was encouraging to see. I think the play of Ibra, Rooney, and Mkhi made that possible. In the 2nd half, he did a great job of filling in the space vacated by Ibra, and got rewarded with 2 poacher goals. For me, he was always a better option than Rashford on the left wing.

Decent, some of his link-up was sloppy, but every time he got the ball you felt like something was going to happen.

His passing is really mediocre for such a naturally gifted footballer.

He performs better without Pogba. With Pogba in the team, it's usually the left winger who has to defend more. This spoils Martial's game.

I want to be the first to make this prediction. Anthony Martial will be compared to George Best one day. All he needs is to be allowed to grow and flourish. His technique, dribbling, eye for goal and perhaps unfortunately his mindset is very similar to Bestie. Watch this space and remember you heard it from me first.

Only 7% voted Martial MotM? Thought he was superb. Was a joy to sit behind his flank for the first 30 minutes and see him giving us an extra man in the box in the second when we were attacking down the right.
He was probably my 2nd or 3rd choice, there was a lot of competition for MOTM today. The entire front 4 was worthy of a MOTM award really.
Best was a great passer, just a reluctant one. Martial's problem is a lot of his passes (even simple one's) just aren't accurate.

Perfect, he wasnt just hanging out wide and actually got into the box on attacks which is great. What we need to see more of when the ball is out on the right.
Great to see the real Martial step up today. Looked hungrier today then he has in other games this season, and actually played with a purpose once he got the ball. An automatic starter when he plays like this.

Like I said yesterday, Martial and our team just needs time to click. Martial talent is not to be questioned. He was rightfully managed game time due to losing form and losing focus due to family issue. The quicker he get back to form the quicker the quality in our play improve. Nothing to do with our new coach ruining him since he had similar problem with France. He just need to learn and improve himself as we play differently than last season.
Same thought. Early day, but seem like he's starting to learn from the coaching.

In regards to the wingers, if you were facing a team surely you'd fear Martial and Mhiki more than Rashford and Lingard. Even if they are not at their best it made no sense to leave them out so long.
