Anthony Elanga | Forest watch

He's not really doing better though. The 2 goals he's scored in the past week were his first 2 of the season. He's not even a guaranteed starter for them.

It's just looking for something else to moan about.
Exactly, what a ludicrous bump. Wasn’t it his first goals since Feb. He’s a bang average player with some pace. Like you said hasn’t even been playing from the start.

Forests fine season has very little to do with him…

If you're not interested don't read. Simple as that. I just thought it was a bit ironic that Nottingham I running well, Elanga scores and united gets pommeled...

Makes me wonder why everyone is playing better as soon as they leave.
He’s barely a starter at Forest, so how does it automatically equate to him doing better all of a sudden? I think the move was best for all parties, but to use him scoring a brace as another reason to moan about United is crazy.

He is a very talented young player. Glad to see him starting to influence the game.

I am not that bothered that we sold him given that he is not going to be a world class player or a difference maker for a top Premier League side. We were in a financial hole due to our stupid transfer dealing and as an Academy player he was a quick fix to the problem and we got a reasonable fee for him too.

I cannot understand why he seems to be salty towards the club though. He was developed here and played in the first team and that provided him the pathway to a move to Forest where he is doing well and could quite possibly cash in with a bigger move or a contract extension. If he had stayed he would have been a rarely used squad option so everything that happened has been to his advantage and yet he still seems bitter.

Can't help but think he would have probably been favoured by amorim over many of our current winger/attacking midfielder options

Dude, he is one goal behind Uniteds top scorers this season in terms of goals with less starts. Isn't that reason to moan?

No because we have been utter shite this season. Being less shit than utter shite isn't saying much. He was and still is a very limited player who is going through an extended purple patch, that's all.

What makes you think that? He showed nothing under Rangnick who gave him plenty of chances. In fact most of our fan base was saying he’s useless and doesn’t do anything in the final 3rd. I never understand how when we let a player go because he wasn’t good enough for us but shines at a smaller club why everyone wants him back.

Hard worker with a decent end product, but of course we don't need wide players like that at United....

Player profile has never been our biggest problem, but how we use our players. And this lies squarely on Managers door step

He's been an excellent signing for an ever improving Forest who currently lie second in the league. It's disingenuous to suggest his contributions have been solely down to him having an 'extended' purple patch. Is it hard to accept that a somewhat lowly rated player among the fans can move on and forge a decent career elsewhere? He's outperformed our attackers since his move, and good for him.

Rangnick's spell was a disaster but one thing he understood about the PL was the importance of pace, workrate and physicality (the opposite of Ten Hag). Hence he gave a lot of minutes to Elanga.

Always thought he had potential, but he was a bit ”light weight” when playing for us. Kept bouncing off defenders and rarely getting the free kick.

What he needed (and maybe has got at Forest) is a ”no fouls called” training regime to toughen him up.

Another assist. Direct and effective. Old fashion wing play is a joy to watch after watching our shit for years.

I didn’t even think he looked good enough for the PL when he played for us and he’s been one of the best players in the league this season. Maybe we are just a graveyard for players.

He’s doing a lot better than I though he would after he left us, happy for him.

Is it a player style and team style mix that’s just a perfect combination?

3 assists today. Do we have a buyback option? Think he’d thrive under Amorim.

Forest have done well with him. Didn’t think he’d particularly cut it at this level but sometimes players need to go and play to develop properly. Good on him and them.
