Anthony Elanga | Forest watch

Good luck to Elanga, hope he does well at Forest.

Hope he blossoms there, at the price paid he could be a real steal for Forest.

One of those quite nice transfers that feels a good move for all parties.

Hope he does well at Forest (and I think he will).

Good luck

There’s a good player in Elanga and I think they’ve got a good deal and he will get more PL minutes

Suits everyone

Good luck to him. Nice to see us starting to move players on at the right time.

Good move for him and decent money too for a change.

This. Have to give him the respect due for realising he won't make it here and not settling for a few years languishing in the squad. Hope he does well.

We did extremely well to get the sum we did for him.

That goal he scored against Atletico Madrid was a proper feel good moment. Wish him all the best

Happy we're selling players who won't make it at United for a decent fee. How many people have we sold for substantially over 15m+? Only Beckham, Ronaldo, Di Maria, Lukaku, James come to mind. Of course inflation will skew this but glad we're improving here none the less.

Good luck to him. Solid hardworking player but not good enough for a club that wants to compete for CL places in my opinion.

Good luck Elanga. Decent player and seems a real nice lad, I'm sure he'll do well at that top championship / lower PL level.

Big fan of our approach to sales this summer.

Saw him play in a pre-season match at QPR when he first came into the team and his pace was impressive. If he can improve his finishing he'll do well at Forest. Comes over as a decent and likeable lad as well. Good luck to him and hope his move is successful, shame it didn't work out for him at Utd.

He's a good finisher, absolutely not his problem.

He's absolutely rapid... So if they can coax an actual footballer out of him then that'll be great business for them.

I have my doubts though

He's a decent player, but needs to play on the counter. Basically like Mudryk, but can actually score.

That’s why we bought him. Johnson on the right, Elanga on the left, Awoniyi up the middle with MGW supplying the early passes. I don’t think there are many quicker front threes in the Prem.

He‘s Swedish Tony to us now.

I think he'll be good at Forest and he is probably right thinking he's more suited to them than Everton.

Hell score 10 premier league goals next season, you read it here first.

The way forest set up helps Elanga. He'll have space and has the physicality to take advantage of it.

I don't disagree, they are set up to be a counter attacking side and with him off the left and Johnson off the right they will get some goals.

Echoing most of the thoughts in here, but I think he'll do well in that Forest set up.

Are Forest fans excited by his signing?

I really had high hopes for him after the first few appearances but it became clear he wasn’t quite at the right level.
I think he’ll go on to have a good PL career.
Best of luck to him always seemed like he had the right attitude
Edit - would be very surprised if there is a faster player in the PL, he is rapid.

Are Forest fans excited by his signing?
Yes, for several reasons:
The on pitch reasons have been discussed but he’s young enough to not be included in the 25, which an issue for us this season. We’ve not had a decent left sided option since pre-injury Joe Lolley was around 4 seasons ago. Everything has gone down the right so this is a really good signing for us.

First Forest Interview with Elanga

This lad is going to be a bit of a cult hero. Spoke to Cooper and wanted to sign - Compliments the volume at the City Ground and clubs history. Also appreciates the positive messages he’s got. Bright lad. The shirt suites him

I wish him well - think this will turn out to be a great singing for Forest and Elanga himself. With regular playing time and tactics better suited for him I think he will develop nicely.

From pretty well all the first team matches I've seen (and in pre-season) he has great pace but then makes wrong decisions in front of the net. Listening to ETH, he makes the point that younger players need to seize their opportunities when they're given them and Elanga hasn't. It's a shame, I would have liked to have seen him succeed.
