I don't know whether he is or isn't his cousin but that evidence you've provided tells us nothing. Almeida is hardly an uncommon name in Portugal and often Portuguese people "adopt" good friends as cousins into the family. If a Portuguese tells you someone is "meu primo" you have no idea if they're related by blood or not. What is clear is that Nani is at least a good friend of the family.
And the newspapers could be wrong in the same way that all the half arsed sports journalists repeat any old shite they've heard a different one say e.g. "interesting fact but Fabio was actually the higher rated of the brothers in Brazil". They don't know if it's true, they just think it makes them sound well informed.

The 'evidence' I provided was what I could come up with in three minutes, I didn't put my heart and soul into it because I was essentially arguing against nothing but 'no he isn't' statements. I just find it weird that every single media outlet is apparently wrong about this.

Media are wrong all the time. One calls him Nanis cousin and that is the source for the rest to say it. Doesn't make it true. Numerous people on here or else where online who know the Gomes family have said they aren't related.
I read an article about him from the norwegian Man Utd supporters club. They usually always double-check their sources and they specifically showed me that instagram picture as well as lots of other material pointing towards them being cousins. For some reason I can't find that article, maybe I'm on the wrong webpage. Anyway I find it surprising that every media is wrong about it. Not sure what to believe. People on here are just saying that he isn't and laughing at me when I show them the reasons behind my conclutions which I think is quite funny.
