There once was a kid from Toronto...
Angel’s contract has never expired before. That isn’t about him.Does the lad not understand how contracts work?

He showed a lot of promise in the youth a couple of years ago but has never really kicked on. Whenever he's played for the first team he hasn't been that impressive and he's definitely undersized to me.Is he any good? All I have read about him on here is that he’s Jadon Sancho’s mate
Gribbin was told he wasn’t welcome months before his contract expired. That tweet sounds to me like a different player, Gribbin maybe?
he might not be tearing it up now but he is one of the most talented youngsters in world football. We should categorically make sure he doesn't go to another English club.
You've pretty much explained the answer in your own post. He's talented but he can't transfer that into performances in men's football yet.... maybe his size is an issue or maybe it's something else but I've watched him play a lot and he is a genuine world class talent. There's also the element of clubs not giving non committed players game time, everyone does it and it would be naive to think that Gomes wouldn't be playing more if his contract situation was sorted out.For me this is a massive exaggeration. I've seen him in youth football quite a few times and at that level he looked very good . He's never shown anything when playing for the first team in his limited appearances. He has had how many managers who continue to overlook him .
If he was one of the most talented youngsters in world football then he would be a first team regular
Look at what Chelsea are paying Hudson-Odoi. It's disgustingly immoral amounts of money as apparently he's on more than 100k a week but maybe that's what you have to do to keep these kinds of talents now. What are his demands? He has an offer on the table, we can’t force him to sign it. I would bet our contract offer is more than generous considering he’s done nothing of note for us. He’ll get game time if he stays, that much is guaranteed under Ole. It’s really up to the player if he wants to leave.
It's about the long term and he has even more potential than all of them IMO. Anyway as per my response above. Players that don't commit to a new contract never get any playing time so that's clearly been a factor this season for him.Where's that come from and who said it? I find it hard to believe one of the most talented youngsters in world football couldn't dislodge Lingard or Pereria from the United team, especially when Greenwood, Chong, Williams and McTomminay have all become first teamers around him.
Even TFM got on the bench before him the other day!
He’s one of those players that I’ve heard lots about but never seen him play. A lot of hype from Man Utd fans I know but I didn’t realise he’d hardly played. He showed a lot of promise in the youth a couple of years ago but has never really kicked on. Whenever he's played for the first team he hasn't been that impressive and he's definitely undersized to me.
I would've preferred keeping him and giving him a loan but there's nothing much you can do when he's turning down contracts.
He's not been linked to any German clubs so this assumption that he's going to join Dortmund is a bit premature.
He captained the u17 world cup winning England side....He isn't one of the most talented youngsters in world football - he wasn't even a starter in the England youth teams. He has magical feet and I like him and would have liked to have seen him get more minutes ahead of Lingard and Pereira but my suspicion is he is gonna end up as a neat but largely ineffective player.

If he joins Dortmund in the next couple of months, you can change my username to anything SFW of your choice for two weeks.Isn't that the German way? According to the media they weren't even in real contention for Haaland until the day he signed. Bayern regularly announce deals out of the blue.

Agree to disagree. PSG, Barca, Chelsea etc know it that's for sure. I'll feel physically sick if I see him playing for Chelsea or another PL team next season. How can you actually say he's a world class talent? He has done absolutely nothing to show anyone he is such a talent . He is 20 soon and there is many players at his age who are genuine world class talents . Gomes most definitely isn't one of them
I don't think so. He's been given zero opportunities, which tells me Ole knows he's got no future here.I think he's signed but they haven't announced it yet
Did anyone else hear the nonsense spouted on MUTV regarding this situation? Basically saying players of that size will struggle to make it because they are "not physical enough". If we were talking about a player whose main objective was to defend then there would be some merit to that, but other clubs have proven that you can play creative players of that size as long as the talent is there .
I've read all your previous comments and my conclusion is that you're either a Bertie or Dipper troll..Make no mistake THIS IS OLES FAULT
Another reason why i dont think his up for the job and ill stand by that statement
The amount of chances he was giving lingard and pierera when they were clearly out of their depth, lingard not scoring or assisting in the premier league in 1 year yet he was STILL getting in ahead of gomes, let that sink in he was still giving lingard chances ahead of gomes in the number 10 role before we bought Bruno, and not once did lingard play even ok let alone good
I'm fuming, can see why ole got Cardiff relegated he hasn't got a clue,he will never be on klopp or peps level, and man United should be aiming higher than this fraud.
Watch gomes go on to become a world class player
Im disgusted ...

Yes, but Ole knew we weren't getting anywhere with it, hence why he never gets a chance. This is factually incorrect. Ole has already stated he has had a contract offer from the club for some time.
He was recovering from an injury and as there were so many other great talents in that team they could afford to use him sparingly. He's not a natural leader, he was made captain because of what he could do on a football pitch and would have started every game in normal circumstances. He only started twice in the U17 world cup win and came off the bench in most games. I remember there being a hoo-ha about it on these boards as people were annoyed he wasn't starting.

Because he just returned from injury and couldn’t handle playing in the Indian heat. Every time he entered the pitch he was given the armband. He only started twice in the U17 world cup win and came off the bench in most games. I remember there being a hoo-ha about it on these boards as people were annoyed he wasn't starting.
Not a natural leader yet he’s captain every team he’s played for? Yea sounds about right. He’s a leader and a talent. He was recovering from an injury and as there were so many other great talents in that team they could afford to use him sparingly. He's not a natural leader, he was made captain because of what he could do on a football pitch and would have started every game in normal circumstances.
Some massive under-appreciation of how good this kid is on here. Perhaps his size could be an issue long term but I've a feeling this could be Pogba 2.0.
The press rarely have a clue about youth players. He's not been linked to any German clubs so this assumption that he's going to join Dortmund is a bit premature.
