I couldn't give a flying feck how much he costs. He's a great player and will improve the team dramatically, that's all that matters.

Angel Di Maria could now cost Manchester United £75m after Real Madrid raise their asking price for midfielder
  • Louis van Gaal looked set to capture Di Maria for £60m
  • But Real Madrid have now increased their asking price for the midfielder
Where is this from?

I don't know about you lot, but he is WAY overpriced. Among many reasons why he is not worth it is because He is not a match winner like Suarez/Ronaldo, if you are going to pay over the top-do it for the right player. Ma any club would pay is £56 including add-ons.

I might be in a minority here, but if Di Maria does not play well-it will bite us the back big time.

 Jesus, I'm not bitter at all. It's just amazing that these 'lol, he snubbed Madrid to play for us' fantasies didn't take a bit more time to pop up.

I'm sad to see him go but I said this yesterday, I hope he does well for you guys.

Well considering you associate yourself with probably the 2 biggest clubs in the history of football I think you will be alright eh petal?

75 million? Is that for real? If it is...
As much as I want this guy but it seems our money is getting raped. We should just wait next season and sign Reus. Centre midfield is still the priority one at the moment.
Everybody will be competing for Reus, it will be very hard to pull off. Di Maria is quality, brilliant addition to the team.

Great signing for us but stupid on Madrid's part to let him go. He was immense for them last season and that combination of industry, work rate, pace and penetration was vital. In their current squad he deserves to start ahead of James.
The Madrid fans I've talked to agree. They were happy to get rid of party boy to Arsenal, but thought there was no way the club would be stupid enough to sell Di Maria. I certainly don't see the logic on their side if they have no money worries.

At 64 million we are overpaying by a 20 million still for me.

Don't care that much as long as money is left for a top midfielder but i think that might not be the case now.

64m including add ons is not a bad price.. Di Maria is one of the best players in the world, and those doesn't come cheap. And max any club would pay is 56m? How do you know that? Besides, what difference does 9m do as long as we get a world class player?

I agree with the second paragraph but saying the guy with the most assists in the top 5 leagues (and the most in the Champions League) isn't a match winner is pretty ridiculous.

You don't know that.

I think it's pretty obvious when you think he was nailed on for PSG until their president came out and said they couldn't afford him this season due to FFP. Not surprised when they paid £50m for Luis, stupid buggers.

People can bang on about him being overpriced all they want, but most were happy we spent near 30 mil on an 18 year old unproven left back. Tad hypocritical is it not? Top players cost top money, and if we want them that's the only way to go.

He's worth more to us than Bale was worth to Real Madrid last season, or Suarez to Barcelona this summer.

He'll do wonders for our team, he brings quality in a number of positions we're lacking, he brings pace that we sorely lack and hopefully - he'll bring confidence.

We actually need him, as far as I'm concerned some of the other transfers of a similar fee were nothing more than luxury signings for glamor and vanity. At 26 we should be getting the best years out of him.

It's expensive but it'll be more than worth it as far as I'm concerned.

True but the money could be added to other targets that would help strengthen other weaknesses in the squad, so I think it's justifiable to be annoyed with the money spent.

All I have seen you do is whine. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Poor Woody can never win.

WHO GIVES A feck.

WE HAVE THE MONEY. WE ARE SPENDING IT. END OF

Better than spending 60m on a few Ashley Young types. He's a fecking beast of a player
You get a top top player, world class, yet people still moan! First they want to organize a protest cause we're not signing players, now we overpay. You just can't win, can you?

I don't care how much we pay - we have the money, he improves us to no end, so what is there not to like?

You will give a feck when you realise that how much we (over) spend will have a direct affect on our budget for next summer. That sort of fee should buy you a Suarez, sorry Di Maria isn't a match winner on that level but hey this is woodward negotiating a transfer, so it's to be expected that he'll over pay by quite some margin.

You've got to love the Caf sometimes, while the price is very high people on here have been bitching all summer about how Chelsea/Madrid just waltz in, slam big money on the table, and get their man, while Woody et al dither around over a few million. We're about to break the British transfer record for a world-class player about to enter his prime, and suddenly it's a problem.

But, he won't get as much assists here with the amount of quality in the premier league. Also, he lacks goals scored (4 goals)-which really low.

I am not trying to WUM here, I am just weighing up the negatives with the positives (on here).

So really it's like £54m unless he wins us the treble next season probably. Doubt the add ons will come in play. If they do, it means he would have won it for us as well probably. Sure it's a lot but it's definitely worth it, 54m or 64m, what difference does it make for us, really?

Chances are, the people complaining about the fee don't think he's "top top player, world class", it's called a difference in opinion.

It's so weird. We are about to sign Di Maria and people are moaning about price? How often is it we buy a player of his rare quality years before their prime? Never? Just enjoy it you freaks.

It really won't with the income of Adidas + Chevrolet deal and if we make champions league. We have never spent this much in a single transfer window, heck we spent fecking 15m after we sold Ronaldo.

You do know that our projected revenue for this season is upwards of £400m right? Chevrolet deal kicks in, Adidas deal kicks in next season. This club is a printing press of money.

Rather the Glazers money is spent on players and not filling their pockets

They're probably not the same people as the caf actually has several different members

You're not paying £64M for Di Maria? That's at least double what he's worth (or more like three times based on is wing performances).

This is the difference between United and Arsenal fans, you want Wenger to buy players that will allow you to finish fourth but we want championships.

Dominating the premier league is priceless.

Alot of you feckers feel like Dr. King Schultz when he paid $12 000 for a slave. But he had to do it. That is the position we are in regarding Di Maria.
