Ange Postecoglou

Nice bloke but tactically not very good. Won’t last much longer.

I can’t believe they’re lower than us, god that’s hilarious. If arsenal won the league this season with United and spurs where they are it’d be their absolute heaven

I was so pleased to see Aussie finally make it into elite management, but this is surely untenable for Spurs to keep Ange on any more? What are they waiting for?

It is mostly their defence that is injured, but Ange doesn’t bother with any defensive work anyway. Plus it was him who rushed back both CBs for the same game, which caused them to get injured again. ETH had a similar injury situation, and we were never this bad, and the difference is Ange has better firepower up front, so they should not be losing to Leicester or Ipswich at home.

They were missing Solanke, Maddison, Johnson, Odobert, Werner (probably a blessing) today. Along with Spence, Udogie, van de Ven, Romero and Vicario. They've not got a particularly big squad so can't really afford to have that many injuries until they have to resort to using inexperienced kids. It's not even like this has been a few weeks either, they've had an injury crisis for months now.

It's the PL and these days you can lose at any point if you've got bad injuries, unless you're one of the big boys with a squad depth of 2/3 internationals per position. I don't overly rate Postecoglou, but at the same time it's pretty evident that Levy hasn't really backed him with proper funds. It took him 12 months to bring in a CF to replace Kane. Honestly I think Tottenham is fecked until Levy finally leaves. They have zero ambition with that man holding the keys.

They could get even worse if they sack him, like Utd. All the injuries and who's available to take the job ?

That has to be the end of the line for him. I still blame Daniel Levy for 90% of this mess.

After the disappointing loss, the Australian was asked about a pre-season interview where he said "usually in my second season I win things".
He told Sky Sports: "I'll correct myself - I don't usually win things, I always win things in my second year. Nothing's changed. "I've said it now. I don't say things unless I believe them."

It’s a safe bet Spurs will be the only club to lose at home to Ipswich and Leicester this season.

Yes he has injuries but at least be flexible. Switch it up for a bit till your players get back. Can't just keep playing the same way and hope for some miracle. The extremely rigid and inflexible way he has dealt with the injury crisis as been nothing short of a disaster.

The pitch to the next manager is still in all three cup competitions and likes of Romero and VDV will I assume be back in next few weeks so they won't gift as many cheap goals as before.

Not sure who's going to walk out mid season to join them though.

And would you really trust Ryan Mason taking it on again as caretaker when they really aren't that clear of the bottom five now. Everton will more than likely go above them next weekend as can't see them getting much at Brentford as Mbuemo and Wissa will do that backline on the counter.

League form is played 7, drew one, lost 6. Has to be the worst in the league?
My mate took his three kids to their first game today. The amount of money they were dropping on a weekend in London was staggering. Tempted to drop him some #bantz but I suspect he might actually murder me.

Southampton will be licking their lips.

Hopefully Town won’t be relegated, but if they were, I wonder if any side has lost at home to all 3 relegated teams before. Wouldn’t surprised me if it’s never happened since football was invented in 1992.

They did change it against Liverpool in fairness. Was a very rigid 4-3-3 and limited Liverpool to mostly half chances.

Porro looks completely done on the right, no energy at all. Is Spence injured himself now as Porro badly needs a breather for a week or two. They even started him v Tamworth!

But but…at least he has a style and DNA!!!

Which we don’t hear as much about this season?

Almost like the genius sport panels now have to accept he is a bit gormless tactically and saying “mate” can only take the team so far.

Christ. Surely there are cheaper forms of child abuse?

To be fair to Tottenham. They're in the middle of a terrible injury crisis.

Their bench today:
Sergio Reguilón
Yves Bissouma
Brandon Austin
Mikey Moore
Will Lankshear
Yang Min-Hyeok
Damola Ajayi
Callum Olusesi

They're already starting two 18 year olds due to injuries. They only have two senior players on their bench, one of whom they've wanted rid of for ages because he's shit. It's pretty wild really.

The response should be the same response as Ten Hag got last season. Didums

Be glad to see the back of him tbh

Why? Because he got some compliments about his playing style when he joined Spurs and that he says mate? He tries to play fun to watch football and currently is near the bottom with Spurs. So either he provides entertainment or he ruins the season of our competition. I hope he stays.

Is that list really a bunch of difference makers? But yes, rival fans tend to more point out when they're being fortunate with inuries, then display sympathy when they have been decimated.

Football is funny. A lot were singing his praises even last year.

Was looking at their finances, and it seems like they've spent 140m this summer, bringing in Solanke, Gray, Odobert, Kinsky and Bergvall. That's a starting striker, and young prospects at right back, right wing, midfield and GK - of which Odobert's been out for months on top of their other injuries.

Whenever I've watched them, their midfield looks average beyond Maddison. They sold Skipp + Lo Celso, loaned out Hojberg and terminated Ndombele's contract - their midfield needed more beyond 18-yo Begvall, I think.
Spurs fans can correct me, but it seems like Kulusevski - a natural wide forward - has been playing in midfield to offer creativity - while behind them, it's between Sarr/Bissouma/Bentancur, and Bergvall thrown in at times.

When half their backline is out to injury (Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie), it gets exposed even more. It was shocking how the midfield + defence let that Moroccan kid just walk in and take a shot today. Half as bad as Van de Ven waltzing through our team.
