Ange Postecoglou

The good thing about being Spurs manager, is that no-one really cares when they are 11th.

I always knew he’d eventually end up a complete laughing stock in that league once other sides and coaches had him sussed.

Mate

Across 2024 they got exactly the same points total as we did despite having a better squad.

Incidentally Villa only managed 4 points more and somehow also had a worse GD.

Poor West Ham.

I'd actually say he'd be an ideal manager for West Ham. No expectation to win things there but their fans want to have a proper go at teams home and away.

Their issue is having conservative managers like Moyes and Lopetegui and still being thrashed. Moyes got heavy defeats 6-0 to Arsenal and Chelsea last season and every other game this season they're conceding four minimum it seems.

Did he now say earlier on in his tenure that it wasn’t his style to get annoyed at decisions or VAR and that he prefers to just get on with it?

They were second best yesterday regardless of any decisions. He needs to start some introspection and stop talking about “the situation we find ourselves in”, which is a few injuries caused by his playing style.

Spurs are a billion pounds in debt and sold their best attacker.

Can't expect more than mid table given how they're being run.

I think they'll be in and around the top 6, they still have some very good players in their prime they could sell for big profit. They won't go above 3rd in my opinion even with the best manager owing to needing to balance the books.

Do we have a better squad? I don't know, form plays a big part in how players are viewed. We have had a lot of players out which doesn't help. I mean yesterday we had Brandon Austin in goal and a back four of Porro/Spence/Gray/Reguilon, you wouldn't even see that in a friendly.

Meh, maybe I'm mental but I still see the makings of a good side when we play, yes there are flaws but I don't feel like I'm watching a bottom half side most of the time. Ange needs to pick up some points soon though otherwise we'll be in danger and once we start to get some players back we need to really kick on. Levy left him short in the summer, only Solanke came in who is an immediate starting level player, the others are all teenagers and one of them(Odobert) has basically been injured the entire time.

I wouldnt really mind Porro and Reguilon on the wing back positions for Manchester United this season.... :(

Still gets the season for me barring a relegation scrap. Whether he stays beyond the summer will depend on how we do once we get some players back.
Kinda how I see it as well, though as a non-Spurs fan. League cup tie vs Liverpool is most probably defeat but once the GK and two CBs are back, you should get better. If not enough, then Ange gets the sack in May and is replaced with someone like Iraola or Frank.

Also loss to Newcastle yesterday was obviously happening with their form and yours atm.

He's not going to be around for very much longer is he
All depends on how they do in cup competitions. Romero, van de Ven, Davies and Bentancur should be back end of January, Udogie and Vicario at some point in February. Think they'll improve in league to get in better position than now. In good position in Carabao Cup though they'll have to survive Anfield somehow and also one of the favourites in Europa League. There's Fa Cup obviously, too.

If Ange fails to win something, they may sack him end of the season and go for someone like Iraola. But right now (with so many players out injured) he's safe.

Yeh he's got that haggard look now of a manager that's on his way out, I don't see a way back for him now and its only a matter of time. A shame really as I really liked him.

Mate.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but he seems like an absolute flute to me.

They've got some serious injury issues but they just look rubbish don't they. Arsenal were first to everything. Had all the space in the world. Tottenham barely pressured anyone on the ball. They looked like us at our worst over the past few years. You know, when we look like we have 9 men on the pitch when defending and somehow still look like the opposition have numbers on us when we attack.

Just hope they don’t sort out their mess before we play them middle of February. Would be typical for us to get Spurs with the new manager bounce.

I liked him when he first rocked up and overall he had an okay season.

But as soon as he stated back in Aug/Sep that he always wins a trophy in his second year, he had to back it up. A cup is still on the cards but unlikely.

Plus his comments about his job being more stressful than the PM’s, well I can see where he’s coming from but he’s going to rub a lot of people up the wrong way too.

His stubbornness and overall demeanour, especially this season, make him aloof and far less likeable. I think the size of the job is getting to him. He’s no longer in a tin pot league. Sure he’s got injury problems, but feck me so do lots of clubs.

Can see him ousted in the next month if league results don’t improve.

Doesn't help that his actual coaching ability is extremely suspect. He's likeable in that he seems like a good guy in a very difficult career, and you'd rather not see him get humiliated. But then again he chose a role at Spurs.

There was a hilarious moment last night after a piss poor call when he covered his eyes with his hands for a good 5 seconds to tell that useless twat Simon Hooper that he was blind. The idiot camera operator switched cameras just as he did that, annoyingly.

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again; the only thing an aussie is capable of managing in london is a walkabout.

he'll make it thru the end of the season but not sure it'll be much into the summer and they move on from him

they've lost Kane and Son will probably be going soon as he's really hit a wall as a player

yes i know they are carrying injuries but his style of football is not sustainable without an incredibly deep squad of players
