Ange Postecoglou

I want them to crash and burn in Europa with every fibre of my being but if Spurs were to win it. Big Ange should basically be unsociable until the end of the 2026 season.

A major European trophy and Spurs first trophy since 2008. Something Redknapp, Mourinho and Pochettino all failed to do. 17 years. If you don't consider the League Cup a "major" trophy, Spurs haven't won a thing since the early 90s(?).

Their fans won't remember what position they finished in for the past 4 years but will remember this Europa League win (if it happens).

Football is really an unforgiving game.

I think it's more they've just completely let the league season go. In the winter months he at least had the excuse he had no fit defenders with Archie Gray having to start 8 games in a row at CB and also had many attackers injured.

Now the first choice backline is playing again in prem and they're still shipping 2-4 goals most games. He could also afford to have Johnson, Solanke and Maddison as subs for Forest.

This season Howe has won a cup and very likely to finish at least 5th now if not higher. Emery made CL QFs, in contention for top 5 and winning FA Cup remains a realistic chance and even Nuno hasn't just massively overachieved in the league but he's also taken Forest to FA Cup SF and they'll give Man. City a tough game.

I imagine Levy was expecting Spurs to be where Bournemouth are now in the league. They're more likely to finish 17th with the fixtures they have left.

Jupp Heynckes was sacked days after he won the Champions League for Real Madrid for the first time in 3 decades in 1998. The reason - poor La liga campaign..

Abramovich also quickly realised quickly giving Di Matteo the job full time after winning the CL was a massive error. Weren't Chelsea about 8th when he was sacked the following November?

The last Spurs manager to win a trophy was Juande Ramos and he was pretty dreadful immediately thereafter. Obviously winning a trophy should put credit in a manager's bank but when they're already as far in the red as Postecoglou is...

Surely he is gone if Spurs don't win the Europa league. I'm not even sure that's enough to retain him. I'd fire him regardless

Clearly lucked out at the beginning, even that game against us back then I felt we could have scored a couple of times. Just going for it every match gets you a lot of credit but won't work unless you've got the players and a bit of wherewithal to know when to take your foot off the gas.

I can see him going somewhere like MLS.

Its lucky for spurs when the year ends in 1.

Edit: and begins with 1

xPts says he got lucky last year and should have had 8 points less but has been unlucky this year and should have 10 points more...

The biggest problem he has is the fans have turned against him... Possibly no way back from that.

I doubt whoever replaces will do much better.

Amazingly they were actually 3rd in the league, 4 points off top spot. But they were winless in 4 league games.

They were on the brink of going out of the CL group stage which was presumably the bigger issue.

It's quite telling when many think you should be sacked despite the possibility of you winning their club first trophy in 17 years, biggest trophy since 1991 and first European trophy since 1984. Personally I'm not sure Ange will lose his job if he actually goes on and wins the Europa. Trophy, CL football next season and big amount of money coming in as reward as well. Sure they're terrible in league and even worse than us atm but it's not like Spurs win stuff on regular basis.

Since early November Spurs played 12 league games at home. Lost 7, drew 3 and won 2 (against us and Southampton).

19 defeats in 34 games is some record. Probably few more to come in last 4 games.

It's probably because (almost) nobody actually believes they'll win the EL.

Even if he wins it, he despise the club and its fans. There's no turning back, the relationship is dead.

Not sure about that. They're able to beat Bodo/Glimt and then in one-off game can beat Bilbao or United as well. It's not that unlikely now at all.

Exactly, Spurs are probably the favs? United and Bilbao is a tough tie, in the final, they can easily beat both.

esp united, they have shown in the last 2 years, they have won all the games against us.

he's gone for sure if they get knocked out in teh semi of the europa to that Norwegian side

The spurs games recently were against EtH’s suicidal tactics and then a couple of close games against Amorim. I don’t know, I’m not sure how I’d feel about facing them in the final but I feel the previous games would have no bearing on it.

Bilbao are the clear favourites I feel. If we can beat them I’m confident we can win it.

I’ve seen many references to a bad relationship between him and the fans. What has happened there?

At the end of last season Spurs played against City and most Spurs fans actually wanted to lose that match so that Arsenal wouldn't win the league.

He looked quite shocked after that experience
