I think its not just that Ange's gung ho tactical approach is a bit naive, the team is often really poorly positioned and organized.
Look at the second goal Fulham scored, beginning with the ball coming into play on a throw around mid field (best angle on this is around 6:44 on this highlight video).
-Their defensive shape/organization on the throw is terrible. They're playing 4v2 down the line but only 2v3 in the immediate vicinity of the throw, so the ball comes in to an unmarked player with ease.
- Even more bizarre, on the throw in they also have three forwards (actually two forwards plus Maddison) pressed high up against the Fulham defensive line and absolutely nobody anywhere near the middle of the pitch, so that the Fulham player receiving the throw can easily turn and spot a player in acres of space. Where is the midfield? He then quickly moves the ball to Iwobi on the RW and trouble is really brewing.
- Udogie moves to cover this threat, and instead of seeking to delay the transition to allow the rest of the defense to fall back into shape, decides to aggressively attempt a poor tackle and whiffs. Meanwhile Brennan Johnson has no idea whether to track Castagne on the outside or step up on Iwobi and does neither.
- At this point, Castagne is overlapping and the ball to play him in is relatively simple, so the best hope is to catch him offsides but the defensive line is a total shambles. Dragusin and Romero are at completely different depths and Romero is playing Castagne onside by miles.
-Dragusin moves out to block the cross but far too late to get involved, Bissouma isn't alert to the danger and only halfheartedly tracks the man he left, and the Fulham player has a completely free swing at a near post cross six yards out.
This is the kind of sequence that is 100% on the manager. There is no way your team should be set up the way they were off this throw in. And then the players looked like they had no idea what to do during a defensive transition.
