Give him a consistent run in the first team, which he's never really had, and we'll see big improvements.
This is just based on hope.
Good pressing and the cross was nice though.

He has decent offensive play. I still dont understand why hes rated so highly though.
If we can "hope" and give countless of chances to a shit player like Lingard at the age of 27 why wouldn't we be doing at least the same with a more talented younger footballer like Pereira? This is just based on hope.

You are obsessed with Lingard. Pereira is not more talented.
Unlike Mctominay I'm not sure he's good enough as a squad option either. He seems to excel in the odd moment here or there and doesn't seem to shine consistently when required to deal with a lack of space. Seems a final third player who isn't particularly prolific in the final third. Can see him eventually up at a team like Everton.Like McTominay, he isn't really good enough to be a permanent starter for a team aspiring to win trophies but should easily be good enough as a squad option to cover for other players when needed.
Trouble is I'm not sure what he exactly is. He's not really a central midfielder but he's also not a winger.
It was a beautiful cross to be fair, probably the best one I've seen from a united side for a long time.He did exactly what he did best in Spain... putting a great cross.
If it works for Ole he may be useful, but needs definitely defensive awareness as Chelsea attackers just went through our midfield in the first half like there's no one there.
There's hope in Fred as he's more suited to faster tempo and I think Ole should rotate, especially against teams with more clinical finishers. It was a beautiful cross to be fair, probably the best one I've seen from a united side for a long time.
He looked really tired to me, I think he struggled with the tempo of the match.
Yes yes, you still guarding the Lingard thread or what?
Pereira is evidently more talented and cultured footballer than "runs a lot" Lingard. It just shows the hypocrisy of some of you Lingard apologists, supposedly saying that a 23 year old Pereira could improve with a consistent run in the team is just based on hope, but persisting with obviously shit average 3 years older Lingard who has about one purple patch in his career is hating when we point out that it's not good enough?

Of course not. But Pereira is barely starting his career here, I'm willing to give him this season as a chance to prove himself to stay and be a valuable squad member, and at the age of 23 he might still do that, has already showed some glimpses of what he can do.Two wrongs make a right?
Haram, pal you are probably the most deluded Lingard fan on here, I doubt that his grandad rates him as much as you. Being English and homegrown combined with how inept the club is being run is the only thing that keeps Lingard here. Pereira might turn out not being good enough, Lingard for sure is absolutely not good enough, and that is the point. You calling him “runs a lot” Lingard is hilarious when you are trying to claim Pereira is better .
Pereira is not evidently more talented at all. If he was English he would be treated like Tom Cleverley. You are deluded.
You called me out?Kostov is mad I called him out for coming in here talking about Lingard. He then says Pereira is more talented than Jesse because he seems to be permanently angry about Lingard.
Saying Pereira will be good with a run of games is just hope because he has barely shown anything in his career. That’s the truth.
I hate this fiction about his set-piece delivery. His corners were terrible! I don't know why that myth keeps getting put out there.
He is a nothing player. Having him out there is like defending with ten men, he looks like hs is giving maximum effort to hassle and run, but he never actually accomplishes anything! Its almost amazing to see how easily the opposition play around him as if he's not even there.
He is a poor man's Tom Cleverly, and that is being generous.
You called me out?
It was actually me who pointed out to your hypocrisy about you dismissing a 23 year old clearly talented player, after he just had a better game than Lingard, who I'm sure you wanked over in his thread, for pressing and contributing close to nothing.
Pereira has shown barely anything in his career? Yes he's shown very little and at 23 has a bit more time before he is the finished product. He has shown that he can be a good player, although in glimpses and not on regular bases. Perhaps you should ask yourself the same question when you peddle the same excuses for a 27 year old number 10 with 15 assists in his career here.
Ouch, a poor man’s Cleverly... harsh. Offensively I think he is okay but defensively he is just... porous. Too small to body anyone off the ball and too slow to cut off people or passes. For a young guy he does get passed by a lot.
He actually did. Contributed in the pressing game just as much, had couple of successful tackles, assisted nicely for the third. If Lingard did the same you would be singing him praises. He didn’t have a better game than Lingard though.
Actually hilarious how worked up he gets about Lingard. He’s deluded himself into thinking Pereira is the better player . Lad has done feck all.

I can see pereira slipping behind greenwood, fred and gomes by the end of the season.
Hes an option, but probably not good enough ultimately.
Can we all just agree that Lingard and Pereira played ok yesterday and leave it at that? I don't think there's many who think either of them should be in Man United's first team but bitching about either/both of them yesterday is odd and making it some sort of Vs battle is boring.
