Worst scout to ever exist
New signing stuff, always happens. But at the same time, I think you'll be surprised at how big of an improvement he'll be. He's a brave goalkeeper, he has no problems dealing with crosses (not that he's Courtois with it, but it's not a weakness like de Gea), he's a solid shot stopper (not peak de Gea, but de Gea isn't what he used to be either). It's more about being consistent and not dropping clangers in big games which Dave had a habit of while Onana does tend to step up in big games. Easier to make up for a mistake in smaller games.Well that's 100% spot on fair enough
What's getting me is certain posters coming in here acting like there's absolutely nothing to be concerned about and any of his past career is all 100% legit with no red flags what so ever
The passing out from the back goes without saying, he's up there with the best around with it, and for sweeping a lot is system based and instructions if the coach wants him coming out more or not, but his Inter spell does clearly show a keeper who can restrain himself if asked to. At Ajax he had tons of sweeping actions, at Inter not that many.
No player is perfect, but he is far more suited to a big club and I really hope it gets done. I had bigger concerns with Diogo Costa due to age/adapting to the pressure of a big league, as that's a huge variable. Onana has shown it on the big stage, Costa has had limited time but did have a really bad world cup. Could be nothing, but also it's just less of a risk with Onana. Can't say I've seen enough of Costa to know how he is in the air or if he's as good as Onana with the ball at his feet, but I'm very happy with this one.
