Anderson Talisca

The guy has no footballing intelligence, he was not even a starter for Beşiktaş. Nowhere near United's level. Mourinho was interested in him when he arrived at Benfica and was scoring loads. But even there he started to show how limited he was, and Benfica's manager Jesus dropped him.
Wasnt it jesus who got rid of bernardo silva because he didnt rate him?

More that he didn't use him and Mendes forced a transfer. Anyhow, that's not the same. One is a club youngster he couldn't/didn't want to develop. Another is a guy he purposely bought and then dropped, something not so usual with him.

They did rate Bernardo, of course, everyone in the club could see he was going to be special. Then manager Jesus didn't, and wasted him and Renato Sanches. That was the main reason he was told to leave, actually.
My point is if the same manager who was obviously wrong about bernardo doesnt rate talisca then theres a question mark over his judgement surely? The fact that hes been shunted out on loan may be nothing more than theyve got an excentric van gaalesque manager. We'd get him comparatively cheap as well youd reckon.

Wow, a manager who was once very wrong about a player! Hard to find, I know. Better not trust Mourinho's judgement for all the de Bruyne, Lukaku, Coutinho, etc. shit stirring. Jesus was dead right about several others, though, including David Luiz, Fábio Coentrão, Matić, Di María, Gaitán, etc. Like I said, this rejection of Bernardo and unusual waste of time to use others, like Oblak and Renato Sanches, was probably motivated by a power struggle inside the club)

All im saying is just because his current club dont rate him doesnt of itself mean he's not a good player.

He isn't that rated in Beşiktaş either. I was under the impression he wasn't even a starter for them, just the guy they subbed later in games to edge a freekick or something.

21 league starts. 15 goals and five assists from 27 starts from cam. 1 goal and 1 assist feom 4 substitute appearances. Good score on sqwauka and whoscored (subjective obviously). nothing conclusive or beyond challenge obviously with the league in question but equally theres enough to make him worth a look at.

He's not good enough to play here imo. Liverpool were linked with him in January.

Had a good season on loan at Besiktas, but still unproven for the most part. Can't see it being the type of signing Mourinho would make in his second season.

Surely if he was any good, at the age of 24 he'd be playing for his parent club?
went to benfica in 2014 and made 76 appearances in two seasons and scored 20 goals from cam from age 21 and 22. moved to besiktas on loan and got 17 goals in 33 appearances at 23 years old. He's not 24 until Next February. I seem to remember him being described as one of the best prospects in brazil before he moved to benfica. Not offering this as proof of quality by any means but he's been getting games and 17 goals in 33 is a pretty solid return for a number 10 even if its in one of the 'lesser' leagues in turkey. Could be worth a punt, assuming we're actually interested which as has been mentioned earlier in the thread, theres no real evidence that we are. The noise is all coming from the player and that could just as easily be an attempt to elicit a better deal from besiktas if they are trying to sign him on a permanent, which seems likely.

Feels like a self hype this one. Could be interesting if we are really interested but I thought he was known for his low work rate back in Benfica? Mournho doesn't generally like such players.

Do not want, reminds me of Tulisa everytime i see his name

I had forgotten she existed, thanks for reminding me :)

Back on topic, its got to the stage where even players are linking themselves with us.

Yeah and why are we getting shite ones saying its there dream at that

Reportedly £22M deal?

MAN UTD STRIKE DEAL FOR ANDERSON TALISCA
Manchester United have reportedly struck a deal with Benfica to sign attacking midfielder Anderson Talisca.

Several news outlets in Turkey, where the player has been on loan at Besiktas, are stating that terms have been agreed for the 23-year-old, who would cost around £22million.

Indeed, Talisca stated last week that United boss Jose Mourinho ‘loved’ him and was a fan of his style of play.

The Brazil Under-23 international scored 13 goals in 22 appearances for Besiktas last season and could join his Benfica team-mate Victor Lindelof at Old Trafford next season, while United are also being strongly linked with a move for Encarnados full-back Nelson Semedo as well.

Sport Witness have dismissed those reports saying it was misinterpreted on twitter.

Pretty confident it is not happening, the fact that he so openly talked about Mourinho and that he wants him looks like total bullshit to me.

For £22 million wouldn't be a bad buy as a backup in case of injuries, if true. Looks a good 2 foot passer and free kick taker on youtube.

If that was all we are going off I say get Defoe on a free, Talisca scored his goals in a third rate league and his all round play is very poor.
If you watch those goals they were mostly unsaveable and not down to poor defense. Hate this argument that we should only buy from a few top leagues.

He's an amazing finisher and a real threat in set pieces including from long range. He wasn't let go by Benfica for football reasons. We was a very good squad player and we believed that it was only a matter of time before we would get a place in the starting eleven. His problems are of the pitch, he's mentally weak, has had several cases of indiscipline and is a bad apple in the locker room.

Well, its my last comment today so i'm gonna say something preposterous and run away: as a Brazilian supporter he's the Brazilian player i would be more curious to see at United.

He was a 9/false 9 at Bahia. To move him to a more creative role was not a great idea, he supposed to be a established 9 now.
I remember other like him in the 90s, erratic and strange players with an amazing left, and they become really stronger in the middle of their 20s.
I suspect he's one of those.

The definition of a youtube player. He has an exceptional left-foot (great shot, long pass, free-kicks), but lacks in every other aspect of the game

We aren't in a position to be taking expensive punts on players who have only performed at a lower level, we need real proven quality added to this team, especially in attack. Talisca has scored some crackers but his all round play is that of a headless chicken.

Excellent description. I was going to write a post but you said it all.
