He was always good except for a few games where he was dreadful, but some on here thought he was the new Kagawa, while others thought he needed to start every game. When he found his form, he got dropped or injured, rinse repeat.

Always said that he could become a brilliant player for us and Van Gaal just wasnt right for him (even though even with LvG he produced plenty of quality performances). With Mourinho he has the consistency, and its not a huge surprise tbh. He is exactly a Mourinho type player with the intensity he always brings and he plays such a key role for us, especially in big games.

Aha I was given a VERY TOUGH time because of my support of Herrera in the newbies last season.

I feel he's been fantastic so far. As a poster put it, if he played for another team I'd hate him. He's all over the pitch linking up well, nicking the ball, has some wonderful pieces of close control and a good eye for a pass. His passion on the pitch amplifies my respect for him a fair bit. His interviews are also a wonderful read, clearly a intelligent player.

In all of these, the one person I'm truly happy for is Ander Herrera. He's a player I really liked at Bilbao especially against the top spanish sides. Last season was really about adjusting his natural playing ability to play in a certain other way and it led to some unfair criticisms.

He's the player any manager would want in his midfield.

Herrera is brilliant. One of the reasons I wasn't too upset at Van Gaal being sacked was because I felt he was stifling Ander's United career to the detriment of both the team and Herrera himself.

If he's that good and capable of nailing a place at any club in the PL then you'd expect the big three in Europe to be sniffing in the summer. I'm not sure yet that he's at a level consistency wise that will put him on the radar of Real, Barcelona, Bayern. Of course we are as big or bigger than those clubs but that doesn't stop them registering an interest when there's a top PL talent playing out if his skin.

Yes. Him, Mata, & Valencia have been our best players this season. What you've seen yesterday was his standard performance this year.

He really stepped it up, since he was quite bad last year (people will say LVG, but he couldn't complete a pass last year). Great to see.

Who cares if he isn't good enough to replace Xavi at Barca? As long as he is playing well for us, does it really matter? He has improved a lot this season and that's excellent and hopefully he continues this for the future. Right now him and pogba pick themselves in the midfield.
