Amir Khan

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Haha! Brilliant....can't stand the little twat.

Feel sorry for him, he seems a nice guy but he obviously had no business being in the same ring as Prescott.

Some funny quotes from "Sky Sports Your Say"

Oh dear, unfortunately for Khan you can't grow another chin.

Once again, a British boxer is over-hyped by the media. Khan has been tagged a couple of times in previous fights so everybody knew he was chinny. He'll come back from this but, with a glass chin, he'll never dominate a division like he thinks he will. Everybody back on the Calzaghe bandwagon!

Amir Khan spent more time coming to the ring than in it... I can't stop laughing! World class? I dont think so!

Talk of world titles and even the chance to fight Ricky Hatton one day all seem a distant memory now.

Khan has probably learned more from that catastrophic minute than from all his previous bouts. He needs to get rid of all that pointless razzmatazz. There is far too much 'Warren' generated hype surrounding the lad, he is not PNH

I am kind of glad people may now start talking sense about Amir Khan't.

Great stuff

He's a little cocky arrogant prick. Shows off all his money, cars, jewellery etc... I seen him in his BMW with his "boyz" blasting music in Manchester with his roof down, giving it the 'large one' about a year ago, posing cnut.

About time he got knocked the feck out.

Anyway lets see what he can do from here, he'll get one more chance to prove himself prob.

He'll get put up against another no mark fighter and be proclaimed on his way to "legend" status again when he wins. No way will Warren risk his cash cow taking another ko.

This is what he wanted. Now he could come back an even stronger fighter or be damaged phycologicly.

I like Kahn, but could anyone seriously not see this coming a mile off?

You can't get in the ring with a decent opponent and just let them do what they want in the way Kahn does.

Result will be the same every time

Footballers do that too.

Was bound to happen sooner or later. I suppose he's young and could still learn a few tricks. Keeping his chin hidden away would be a good start. His career's not over, though, if it happens again, it will be, however.

Boxing only survives thru being over-hyped.
Fake grudge matches to boost pay per view.
Plus uncritical coverage of the hype from the Boxing journalists......who will now all rush to be the first to say "I told you so" when we pick up our Monday papers.
The journos are as much a part of the problem as the promoters and the executives at Sky.
Khan getting beaten wasnt supposed to happen. He lost in less than a minute to a nobody specifically selected to make him look good.
No doubt Khans supporters will be whinging about wanting a rematch (or even that he can still advance by ignoring the result) but a rematch is only justifiable if Khan had been "competitive".
He wasnt competitive.
All he has is a big time promoter...who might just be even more pissed off than he looked on TV.

Amir Khan's father has revealed that it was his son who wanted the fight with Breidis Prescott.

The Bolton boxer was sent crashing to his first professional defeat in just 54 seconds at the MEN Arena on Saturday night.

The stunning knockout not only raised questions about Khan's chin but also about the match-making process and just who selected the hard-hitting Colombian.

To tell you the truth Amir wanted this fight - that is why we put it together. He told Frank 'I this is the fight I want, he's a puncher but I want to go in there and hopefully come through it'.

I wish boxing match ups were done differently - this picking your opponent system is rubbish and give boxers the opportunity to take the easy option.

Let me use Lennox Lewis as an example, a boxer who I have a very strong opinion of, 100% negative.

What we had in Lennox Lewis was boxer - who after the Tyson fight was being compared to Muhammed Ali by English media. Lennox Lewis was the very example of a modern day shithouse boxer, picked fights all the way through his career that suited him & never gambled on the big fights. Lennox was a boxer who was around when heavyweight boxing was in its prime with some wonderful fighters, he dodged them all until they were are the end of their careers and he was at his peak. I will always have so much more respect for someone like Frank Bruno than some chump like Lennox Lewis.

I see this pattern being following by almost all British boxers, if you want to run your mouth to the British media that your the best, then get some balls and back it up - fight anyone at any time in any location.

Its been a long time since Britain has had a world beater, I never really had any respect for Hatton until he took the Kostya Tszyu & the Mayweather fights, defeated or not, at least he climbed into the ring with the top boys - this is a much bigger achievement than finishing your career with 0 defeats that included a long list of ex-doormen.

Back in December last year:

I'm intending on watching all the boxing (Khan fight is on now - I hope he gets smashed). May as well be on here as I'm watching.

It'll do

Why do you hope Khan gets smashed, carpy? He's class

I don't know precisely why. I used to like him but then I suddenly found myself disliking him. I can't put my finger on what triggered it. I think his chin is rubbish though so he'll be a massive let down eventually.

im glad he got humilated, i hated the way ITV bigged him up so much during every champions league match

word, we miss a real superstar someone who is a born fighter as well as a great boxer. hatton is quality but just not the best. I want another power house like tyson, the kind of boxer who makes everyone wanna watch through sheer knock out power. If only tyson took lennox on 5 years earlier.

Back to khan, i could see this coming about 3 fights ago, the signs were there as someone else said, and as soon as i saw some clips of prescott i knew khan was treading on thing ice, his defense is wack and he is very textbook, prescott was lucid powerful and unpredictable, the exact kind of style which makes world beaters, he hasnt been properlly tested either though.

As for khan he will now fight sure things for about 4 or 5 fights, then if he fights someone with real quality he will get found out again, he is the product of the medias hype and was never going to be a long standing champion he is too standard

Compare that to the comments before the fight. Short and simple by Prescott!

"Prescott looks dangerous but he's just the kind of opponent I need at this stage of my career," he said.

"He may have been knocking them out left right and centre, but I'm going to make him wake up and smell the coffee.

"I've been working on my defensive skills with new coach Jorge Rubio, and it looks like Prescott will be testing out what I've been learning in the gym.

"Along with my strength and conditioning coach, I'm also punching harder than ever before, and I think my offensive skills are going to win me this fight."

Prescott, who has a height and reach advantage and has fought at light-welterweight before, predicts he can add another quick win to his record.

"Khan is just a boy. I will knock him out," he said.

 I'd keep working on them then, an amature would protect himself better than that. Khan has too many bullshit artists around him and he believes what they're telling him, he's an average fighter whose beaten a string of nobodies, he's nowhere near world class and was foudn out big time last night.. Put him in against a world class fighther and he'll get hurt.

This has just showed him what its like to fight someone at a real standard, i have my doubts about him now, where will this leave him? Everyone knows he has a weak chin, put him up against someone who can hit and he will be down, or put him up against bums and he will lose the crowds, its downhill for khan

I watched the fight in Bolton town centre last night with my mates and the reaction from other people watching it was staggering. The cheers that went up when he got put down both times were of a similar volume to when England scored against Andorra.

Yes he's a cocky, arrogant fighter but most boxers are. I still believe Kahn has more class than Prescott. Prescott is a very hard puncher but thats about it, the fight started and he caught Kahn cold with a good left hand. All it takes is getting caught badly once and then you're head is all over the place after it which led to the knock out.

Hasim Rahman wasn't a better fighter than Lewis but he knocked him out. Boxing can be like that. Kahn will come back better for it and hopefully beat him if they ever have a rematch.

Also, let's not forget he's British. We often long for good sportsmen to represent our country and sometimes it seems that when we get one all most of us want to do is slag them off.

I'll never understand the mentality of some people...

I think its more a problem with our media.

If it's rammed down your throat for 4 years how great he is, people are going to start expecting great things.

Expecting great things wasn't the problem, it was people cheering like mad when he got put down.

This was in Bolton too, surely here people should be behind him the most.

I was at the M.E.N. last night, the reception Khan got when he came out was pretty amazing, but as soon as he got knocked out, some of these same people were jumping for joy.

Boxing fans can be fickle.

But not that fickle. I can't imagine RIckey Hatton fans jumping up for joy after he got floored by Mayweather.

Honestly...... i think its because he's Muslim.

Ohh yeh thats right, I've only gone and played the race card!!

Now you mention it, I seem to remember when Nas got beat - there were similar claims that he got found out and that he was shit all along - but truth be told Nas was a brilliant boxer and had the balls to take any challengers on.

One defeat and he seemed to ruin his career, maybe it was because everybody turned on him in the same manner that people have turned on Khan?
