I think he's got the composure and technical ability that will suit the pace Ten Hag wants to play to control games. Could see him as Antony's backup next year.

I agree, it looks like his best position could end up being as a advanced attacking midfielder.Personally, I see him better in a more central position. Maybe he starts to break in on the RW but his passing range and vision is his strongest attribute.

The pass along the ground at 0.22 is world-class.
Mowbray must have jizzed himself. Bet he has never had players who could do that in his career.
His technical ability is very high and he has the class and guile on the ball to potentially be a very good player. He's not going to be a winger in the traditional sense but I feel he can possibly impact a game ala David Silva on the flank or as the most advanced central attacker.
Yeap. David Silva is the best comparison/projection. I just don't know why people are slagging him off or even writing him off so early. His technical attributes are outstanding -- and that's a fantastic starting point. Then it's about getting the right coaching and experiences to build on.
I can imagine him in a couple of years, playing with a set of better-quality players and better goal involvements -- suddenly the same detractors will be calling him world-class.

The kid has it all. I wish Sunderland were doing their Netflix series this season, we could watch him there too.

Both are dependent on strong pacy runners around them. We do not have many of those.Because if a youngster isn't flying past people with pace as a winger then most just assume they are shit.
Honestly the more I watch Amad the more he reminds me of a left footed Sancho. Not quite the close control but a more creative passer, but you can tell he's a player that wants to play proper football as a team in how he looks to pass and link up with teammates. Sancho is the same way, which has hurt him as of late because he isn't assertive enough on his own, but both look to play smart and technical in their link up with players around them

The first opponent is sitting 12 yards off him, then he plays the ball between 2 opponent players who both look at each other expecting the other one to deal with it. If the CB us decisive and says thats mine its very easy to step in and take the ball. The pass only makes it because of a mistake.

Could not disagree more. It caught them both by surprise. The weight of the pass meant they didn't have a chance to cut it out.

That pass was probably the worst of that compilation.Could not disagree more. It caught them both by surprise. The weight of the pass meant they didn't have a chance to cut it out.

How is he doing?Started again
The intention of the pass was to create confusion. He would not have made that pass if there was no space to put the ball in. If either defender tried to clear it, it could have led to a corner, failure to control the ball and a chance.. or another mistake, which is by the way, always involved in football any way you want to look at it. Every CL goal ever scored has been because of a mistake, either during the play or right before, and that fact will never take anything away from whoever scored that goal.Yes, the surprise being that they left it to each other than neither took responsibility, 2 mistakes. The weight of the pass meant they didnt have an excuse not to cut it out
